It is considered the group's best album from a lyrical standpoint.

2012 : Apocalypse or Awakening?

December 21st 2012. Doomsday fanatics & prophets claim that this is the day when life on Earth will come to an end but what does science have to say about this looming apocalypse? What real threats could possibly bring about cataclysmic changes on Earth in 2012?

The following is the Discovery Channel's (five-part) documentary - "2012 Apocalypse".
Hold onto your seats folks, things could get a little bumpy!

The word 'Apocalypse' is commonly defined as : 'a cosmic cataclysm in which God destroys the ruling powers of evil' but it can also mean 'a prophetic disclosure; a revelation; to see; to reveal (to re-veil?)'....

I must make comment here on the melodramatic, low male's voice which narrates this fascinating documentary. As terror-inducing as he tries to come across, he still injects the presentation with the odd bout of humour. I actually quite often found myself laughing at his histrionic proclamations. Featuring great visuals (a lot of them stemming from the recent disaster movie : '2012'), this documentary provides many interesting facts on 'possibilities' only (& very rare ones at that!), containing interesting information on solar activity (coronal mass ejections, solar flares, geomagnetic storms, etc), earth's protective magnetosphere, crust displacement, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, Planet X, the Mayan Calendar, etc.

Throughout, its tone is quite fear-based but by the end (the inclusion of the expert panel of scientists & researchers provides a sober, realistic counter-argument to the doomsayers), I found it actually debunking the entire cataclysmic scenario - this great, looming, catastrophic apocalypse on the horizon - the low voice kinda 'in on the joke' too...(even going so far as pretending to be all dramatic & scary simply for entertainment's sake).

Highly entertaining. Highly informative. Highly unlikely?
Emergency or Emerge-&-See?
Apocalypse or Awakening?

The choice as always...is up to US.

Prepare yourselves for this year's stunning formations (I've been hearing too, whispered rumours that 2010 could be the final year for this remarkable phenomenon - if it truly is the Year of Contact...we may have no more use for these messages - these 'cosmic invitations'... 2012 marks a Year of New Transition of Earth and Humanity. Earth's current Quarantine will end, and the Cosmos will open up. Coming from the 3rd Dimension, we'll be entering the 5th Dimension.

He claims to live in the 'Holographic Universe'; lists his occupations as - Influencer of Dreams, Unplugger of Minds, & Evolutionary Muse. He states, "We are the Fractalated Tendrils of Reality, Forever Undulating Towards the Realm of Evolution & Great Mystery." He goes by the name of 'soundlessdawn'... And I happen to think he is very, VERY, excitingly switched on : an interpreter of metaphors, a decoder of symbols, an astute reader of Life, and its gradually rising vibration. It's like he's a galactic Higher Dimensional who has inserted himself into Simulation Earth...and is leaving a trail of breadcrumbs on the forest floor for us to follow - if we so choose. His act of Re-Membering is a wake-up call to us all...

Watching this clip, I'm amazed that I've seen nearly every film he mentions in it. He really does seem to encapsulate the energies (zeitgeist) of the moment.

New Swirled Order : Crop Circle Documentary 2009

I came across this ONEderful documentary on Crop Circles recently. Essential viewing & gorgeously made. I thoroughly recommend it.

Where does the mysterious Crop Circle phenomenon come from? Why do people have extraordinary experiences in them? Flying balls of lights are seen in and around Crop Circles. Is an alien intelligence trying to communicate with us? The geometry which can be found in Crop Circles include a lot of mathematics which can be also found in nature.

The new documentary "New Swirled Order" deals with these questions and presents some extraordinary Crop Circle formations from 2008, like the "Pi"-formation at Barbury Castle or the Crop Circle near Avebury Manor, which showed our solar system's planetary configuration on December 21st 2012.

The location of this Crop Formation within this landscaped square is a really wonderful concept. The precision of the design and lay of the crop is indeed awe-inspiring. An impressive and thoughtful statement. The first 'Crop Square' for August is a real beauty.

First The Phoenix, then The Mayan/Aztec Bird, then onto The Swallow and The Hummingbird...guess hoots landed now?

The Owl represents wisdom and higher education. Because of the owl's keen eyesight it's considered to be a great visionary. It also has superb hearing. As a totem it can reveal clairaudient and clairvoyant abilities. This nocturnal bird is often called "The Keeper of Dark Secrets." The Owl is associated with superstition and magickal powers. Whenever an owl appears or you hear an owl screech in the night it may be that a secret will soon be revealed to you. Also, if a secret is shared with you in confidence, the Owl serves as a reminder to honor that knowledge and keep the secret private.
In ancient Egyptian, Celtic, and Hindu cultures the symbolic meaning of The Owl revolved around guardianship of the underworlds, and a protection of the dead. In this light the Owl was ruler of the night (the dark side) and seer of souls. A misunderstanding of this necessary relationship gave the Owl some negative associations with death. It should be clear that the Owl was honored as the keeper of spirits who had passed from one plane to another. Often myth indicates the Owl accompanying a spirit to the underworld - winging it's newly freed soul from the physical world into the realm of spirit.
Native Americans associated the meaning of Owl with wisdom, foresight, and keeper of sacred knowledge. This may largely be due to the fact that the Owl is a great foreteller of weather conditions. Also its ability to see at night is legend among the Native Americans, and this attribute would be invoked during ceremonies when an oracle of secret knowledge was required. Similarly, West African and Aboriginal Australian cultures viewed the Owl as a messenger of secrets, kin to sorcerers, as well as companions to seers, mystics and medicine people.
During medieval times in western and central Europe it was fabled that owls were actually priestesses (witches) and wizards in disguise. To this day The Owl is considered a witch's familiar (an animal soul-spirit linked to a spiritual person via a unique, communicative bond).

Reported August the 12th at Wayland's Smithy Long Barrow, near Odstone Hill, Oxfordshire...was this particularly beautiful formation featuring what appears to be a dozen delicate fleur-de-lys:

The fleur-de-lis (French pronunciation: [flœʀ də lis]) is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, and lis means lily) or iris that is used as a decorative design or symbol. It may be "at one and the same time, political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic, and symbolic", especially in heraldry. The fleur-de-lis is an enduring symbol of France, most notably as the emblem of the French monarchy. As a religious symbol it may represent the Holy Trinity, or be an iconographic attribute of the archangel Gabriel, notably in representations of the Annunciation. The fleur de lis is also associated with and often used as a symbolic metaphor for the Virgin Mary because it resembles both the iris and the Madonna lily.

This is the largest maize formation to ever appear in England, and is apparently a very overpowering formation to visit as it is easy to lose one's way amongst the many circles. There is a feeling of being enveloped in the maize crop while walking in it. A completely different feeling from visiting formations in wheat, barley and oil seed rape.

This gigantic Butterfly/Man Crop Formation (530 Meters x 450 Meters), the Biggest Crop Circle EVER...appeared in The Netherlands near a town in southern Holland called Goes, on the 8th of August 2009. It is an incredibly large butterfly with Da Vinci's 'Vitruvian Man' in the center, depicting the metamorphosis of the Caterpillar into a Butterfly.

Reported July the 2nd at Milk Hill, near Stanton St Bernard, Wiltshire...the Hummingbird has landed:

One of the Nazca Lines of Peru, depicts a Hummingbird (500 B.C. to 500 A.D.):

The Hummingbird symbolises many different concepts. Because of its speed, the Hummingbird is known as a messenger and stopper of time. The Hummingbird animal totem represents hope and jubilation. It is also a symbol of joy, love, beauty & harmony. The Hummingbird is also able to fly up, down, forwards & backwards, teaching us that we can look back on our past. But, this bird also teaches that we must not dwell on our past; we need to move forward. The Hummingbird can also hover in one spot and appear to be motionless (thus appearing to stop time). When the Hummingbird hovers over flowers while drinking nectar, we learn that we should savor each moment, and appreciate the things we love.

It is not commonly known that the fluttering wings of the Hummingbird move in the pattern of an infinity symbol - further solidifying their symbolism of eternity, continuity, and infinity. In Mayan teachings, Hummingbird is connected to the Fifth World. Their deity Quetzalcoatl was considered to be a Hummingbird God.
By observing the Hummingbird, we see they are seemingly tireless. Always actively seeking the sweetest nectar, they remind us to forever seek out the good in life and the beauty in each day. Amazing migrators, some Hummingbirds are known to wing their way as far as 2000 miles to reach their destination. This quality reminds us to be persistent in the pursuit of our dreams, and adopt the tenacity of the Hummingbird in our lives. The Hummingbird symbolises the courage required to embark on an epic journey. Once touched by the energies of this archetype, we are propelled on our own epic journey that eventually leads us back to our source, where our spirit was first spawned...

A merging of Mayan & Hopi symbols? In 2004 a Mayan motif appeared in the same field at Silbury Hill. Both these events could be making us aware of the date : December 21st 2012. This is the date the Mayan (Long Count) calendar comes to an end. With the mysterious Silbury Hill as a significant backdrop, the sheer beauty of this formation is truly breathtaking. The design also resembles a traditional Native American/Aztec Feathered Headdress.

Reported July the 9th at Chesterton Windmill, near Harbury, Warwickshire...was this glistening Diamond-like formation:

This intriguing formation appears next to Chesterton Windmill.

This mysterious formation with its geometric motif has appeared next to the famous Chesterton Windmill, which was built in 1632, by Sir Edward Peyto who was an astronomer and mathematician. It could well have been built as an observatory that he used to look at the stars. The rotating top could have housed Peyto’s telescope. If so, it was probably converted to a windmill sometime later. Could there be a link between this formation and its possible previous use?

This small key formation was in the same field as the Windmill. It is next to where the track from the windmill reaches the road.

Overwhelmingly, cultural myth and lore honor the Butterfly as a symbol of transformation because of its impressive process of metamorphosis. From egg, to larvae (caterpillar), to pupa (the chrysalis or cocoon) and from the cocoon the Butterfly emerges in her unfurling glory. What a massive amount of transition this tiny creature undergoes. Consider for a moment the kind of energy this expends. Imagine the whole of your life changing to such an extreme you are unrecognizable at the end of the transformation. Mind you, this change takes place in a short span of about a month too (that’s how long the butterfly life cycle is).

Herein lies the deepest symbolic lesson of the Butterfly. She asks us to accept the changes in our lives as casually as she does. The Butterfly unquestioningly embraces the changes in her environment and her body. This unwavering acceptance of her metamorphosis is also symbolic of faith. Here the Butterfly beckons us to keep our faith as we undergo transitions in our lives. She understands that our toiling, fretting and anger are useless against the turning tides of nature – she asks us to recognize the same. Interestingly, in many cultures the Butterfly is associated with the soul – further linking our animal symbolism of faith with the Butterfly.
It’s connection with the soul is rather fitting. We are all on a long journey of the soul. On this journey we encounter endless turns, shifts, and conditions that cause us to morph into ever-finer beings. At our soul-journey’s end we are inevitably changed – not at all the same as when we started on the path. To take this analogy a step further, we can look again to the grace and eloquence of the Butterfly and realize that our journey is our only guarantee. Our responsibility is to make our way in faith, accept the change that comes, and emerge from our transitions as brilliantly as the Butterfly.

Could this formation be a stylised version of an Ouroboros?

The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a snake, serpent or dragon swallowing its own tail and forming a circle.
The Ouroboros often represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end (very much like the Phoenix). It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished. The ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism, but has also been frequently used in alchemical illustrations, where it symbolizes the circular nature of the alchemist's opus. It is also often associated with Gnosticism, and Hermeticism.
Carl Jung interpreted the Ouroboros as having an archetypical significance to the human psyche. The Jungian psychologist Erich Neumann writes of it as a representation of the pre-ego "dawn state", depicting the undifferentiated infancy experience of both mankind and the individual child. Related to : The Mobius Strip, and the Lemniscate (Infinity Symbol).

We've actually had a 'woven tapestry' formation before. This 'Magic Basket' Crop Circle (as it was dubbed at the time) appeared at Bishop's Cannings, Wiltshire, on August the 6th, 1999 (almost exactly a decade earlier):

Profoundly remarkable in their simplicity, these two formations are/were utterly brilliant! There is no way on Earth that these could have been man-made. I love formations like this - they're like a huge, cosmic, extended middle finger to all the doubters!

The farmer destroyed this formation early in the morning before anyone had the chance to photograph it from the air. The grapeshot at the corner of the field however, escaped the farmer's fury. The first two (ground) shots are of the formation after it first appeared. The last two shots were taken the following day after the formation was destroyed (with the grapeshot still intact).

Featuring four rotating 'Pac Men' gobbling up what appear to be claws emanating from a representation of four phases of a satellite orbiting a planet. Or four stages of a planet orbiting a star? As always - quite an enigmatic phenomenon indeed!

*Dragonfly Symbolism:

They are fantastic flyers, darting like light, twisting, turning, changing direction, even going backwards as the need arises. The power of the Dragonfly lies in its ability to see around things by looking from different angles. They are inhabitants of two realms - starting with water, and moving (ascending) to the air with maturity, but staying close to water. As creatures of the water, Dragonflies carry symbolism relative to the subconscious, or "dreaming" mind and thoughts (water is symbolic of the subconscious mind or 'deeper mind/dreaming mind' and relates to the thoughts we have in relaxed/meditative/sleeping/subconscious states). As a creature of the wind (air/mind), the Dragonfly totem represents Change & Transformation. Its iridescent wings are incredibly sensitive to the slightest breeze, and so we are reminded to heed where the proverbial wind blows - lest we run into stormy weather. The Dragonfly represents balance with mental clarity and control ~ an expression of the emotional and mental together.

Dragonflies are old and adaptive insects, and are most powerful in the summer under the effects of warmth and sunlight. Their colors are a result of reflecting and refracting the power of light. As a result, they are associated with color magick, illusion and mysticism. The Dragonfly shows us that life, like light, can bend, shift, and adapt in various ways, making life's appearance never be what it appears to be.

They are often featured in Japanese paintings, representing new light and joy. To some Native Americans they are the souls of the dead. Faerie stories say that they used to be real dragons.

Dragonflies are reminders that we are light and can reflect the light in powerful ways if we choose to do so. "Let there be light" is the divine prompting to use the creative imagination as a force within your life. They help you to see through your illusions and allow your own Light to shine in a new vision.

Dragonfly symbolism crosses and combines with that of the Butterfly ~ Change & Transformation.

The Dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our growing and changing.

Dragonflies are a symbol of the sense of Self that comes with maturity.

As a personal symbol ~ to me the Dragonfly represents 'seeing through the illusion, or veil' (the insect world's version of Neo!). With their ability to dart & flit around (kinda like interdimensional spaceships) it's like they are only 'visitors' to this dimension. Symbolically, they possess the ability to 'pierce' through the illusory veils we are all collectively entrapped within. Looking at this particular formation - it's absolutely bristling with energy. I'm experiencing electrical waves travelling up & down my back just looking at it - It's that powerful!

The interesting thing about this Crop Circle is the hedged circle within it : An Inverse Circle - A very interesting feature. We have seen the propeller and Wankel engine design before but there is a basic honesty about this formation that I feel should be noted.

The Phoenix lives a long life, and then is consumed by its own self-made flames, only to immediately rise again from the ashes. This mythical bird is surrounded by folklore and legend. The 'Phoenix Rising' is a universal symbol of the Sun, mystical rebirth, resurrection and immortality.

The Phoenix Legend : The legend of the Phoenix has been around for centuries. There are a few variations, but the basic idea is this: The mythical Phoenix Bird is a supernaturally divine creature, living for 1000 years. Once that time is over, it builds its own funeral pyre (a nest of myrrh twigs), and throws itself into the flames. As it burns fiercely and dies, it is reborn anew, and rises from the ashes to live again for another 1000 years. Alternatively, it lays an egg in the burning coals of the fire which hatches into a new Phoenix, and the life cycle repeats. The bird was also said to regenerate when hurt or wounded by a foe, thus being immortal and invincible - it is also said that it can heal a person with a tear from its eyes and make them temporarily immune to death. The phoenix is a symbol of fire, divinity & eternal life...and with its great beauty, creates intense excitement & deathless inspiration.

Reported June the 14th at Barbury Castle, near Wroughton, Wiltshire...was this striking Mayan/Aztec Bird:

Could this Mayan/Aztec Bird Crop Formation possibly be pointing out that we are getting closer to the Mayan prophecy of 2012? This enormous design below the Hill Fort of Barbury Castle appears to be a direct representation of the 'Aztec Spirit Bird'. The Aztec's most important Gods were represented as Birds, and were right at the top of their pantheon of gods. Quetzalcoatl himself was also a Bird/God and is thought to return in 2012. Once again we have another powerful symbol within the fields with ancient, prophetic connections.

First a Phoenix, now a formation that looks almost exactly like a Thunderbird (above) - a common and very sacred First Nations (Native American) symbol. The Thunderbird : A representation of the Creator and usually precedes the strongest storms - where his wings create the thunderous sounds. Some Indian nations believe that from time to time these beings took on human form and intermarried within human tribes. According to Wikipedia, Thunderbirds have been known to battle against reptilian beings, trying to fight them off. According to the Crop Circle Connector site, the farmer in whose field this symbol appeared is admant against all visitors. Interesting...

The Bennu bird serves as the Egyptian counterpart to the Phoenix, and is said to be the soul of the Sun-God Ra. Some of the titles of the Bennu bird were “He Who Came Into Being by Himself”, “Ascending One”, and “Lord of Jubilees”. The name is related to the verb “weben”, meaning “to rise brilliantly” or “to shine”.

The Bennu bird was the mythological Phoenix of Egypt. It was associated with the rising of the Nile, resurrection, and the Sun. Because the Bennu represented creation and renewal, it was connected with the Egyptian calendar. Indeed, the Temple of the Bennu was well known for its time-keeping devices.

Sperm Penetrating an Egg:

A sperm spends several hours in the female reproductive tract undergoing a process called capacitation, which enables it to penetrate an egg. Here we see a sperm approaching an egg. Although several hundred sperm reach an egg, only one penetrates it. The egg then produces a hard protein covering to prevent penetration by another sperm.

Could this 'evolving' Crop Circle be representing the human conception process? First, we had the appearance of the 'egg'. A day later, the 'sperm' appeared...seemingly penetrating (fertilizing) the egg. On the third day, the egg was surrounded by a protective bubble (or protein membrane?) and two more appendages appeared...giving the formation a sense of movement & growth. In a word - remarkable.

Looking very much like a toadstool or mushroom, this formation was approximately 200ft in length. This is not the first Crop Circle to have appeared in the shape of a mushroom - In East Field 2002 a formation appeared that was both a mushroom and an apple tree depending on which way you viewed it.

This huge 500ft thought-bubble design has one unique feature - the largest circle enclosed a dew pond. This could very well be the only Crop Circle ever to have contained a body of water! Pure genius. Electrical lines also run through the field. Many have speculated that water and pizo-electricity are involved in circle formation. This design is very reminiscent of the Jellyfish which appeared back in May.

Animal Totem : Jellyfish (Light and Power). Symbolic Meaning : inner strength, vulnerability, transparency, truth. The transparency of the jellyfish teaches of the inner source within each of us. We have an enormous amount of power within us to draw upon. We can turn on the light even in the depths of darkness through the wisdom of the jellyfish. It often shows up just when you believe there is no hope left. The jellyfish sting symbolizes that even the most vulnerable has the ability to shield and protect itself from outside influences. The jellyfish is an electrifying totem. It offers a spark to energize and illuminate. Powerful!

"Crop Circles : HerStory..."

'Milky Way Galaxy' : Milk Hill, Wiltshire, 12 August 2001. The largest crop pattern of all time, 800 feet across, consisting of 409 circles.

The Phenomenon Continues.

Every year, on average, around 200 designs appear in crops around the world. These patterns of flattened plants have been reported on every continent, in around 30 countries, but the majority have appeared in southern England. Since the 1980s, the original simple circles have developed into huge, intricate, geometrical patterns of stunning precision and beauty. Most appear in wheat, barley and oil-seed rape, but they have also been reported in rye, oats, flax, maize, sugar cane, peas, potatoes, sunflowers, grass, fruit orchards, rice paddies, snow, and ice.

Over the years, crop formations have been attributed to a variety of mundane causes: drunks armed with string and boards, wild young farmers, disillusioned art students, out-of-work journalists, overapplication of fertilizer, interference from mobile phones, squabbling birds, geometrically-gifted cows, and sex-mad hedgehogs. Although the general public, mass media and scientific establishment tend to dismiss the entire phenomenon as the work of human pranksters, there is strong evidence that an unexplained force and guiding intelligence are at work.

The Doug and Dave Scam.

On 9 September 1991, the British tabloid "Today" ran a front-page story headlined: ‘The men who conned the world’. The story claimed that all the crop circles in England were the work of two pensioners, Doug Bower and David Chorley, aged 67 and 62 respectively. Their tools included a four-foot plank of wood and a ball of string, along with a piece of wire dangling from a baseball cap to serve as a sighting device, enabling them to construct perfectly straight lines by focusing on a distant object – in the dead of night!

To flatten the crop in areas that did not overlap tramlines (the tracks made by tractors when spraying crops), they said they had stood inside a tramline and then jumped or pole-vaulted into the standing crop; this would involve pole-vaulting a distance of up to 35 feet – an Olympian achievement! They said that the idea of making Crop Circles had come to them after a boring evening at the pub in 1978, and their only motive was to ‘have a laugh’. Not only had they never been caught in the act, but their wives had never even noticed their nocturnal absence.

Doug and Dave demonstrated their skills (above) with this 1991 crop formation – after a pint of beer too many by the looks of things.

They showed that they could create crude circular designs in broad daylight – but lacking the geometrical precision, complexity and beautiful crop lays found in the finest formations. At that time, the ‘circles’ had already evolved into complex pictograms, but Doug and Dave could not convincingly explain how they had created these. They could not even duplicate on paper a Celtic cross design they claimed to have made. Confronted with evidence that they had nothing to do with certain formations, they began to backtrack. Even if their grossly exaggerated claim to have made 250 crop circles in England since 1978 were true, that would still leave 1750 formations in England and other countries unaccounted for, as well as numerous pre-1978 formations.

This did not stop the public at large swallowing the idea that all crop circles were made by humans. Many people find this far more palatable than the possibility that unsolved mysteries are taking place in the fields. So Doug and Dave certainly ‘conned the world’ – though not in the way most people think! Despite their ‘retirement’, the crop circles were back as usual in 1992 – but without the intense media interest.

Crop Circle Evolution.

When Doug and Dave claimed to have invented the crop circle phenomenon as a joke in 1978, they weren’t aware that almost 300 documented formations predated their alleged exploits. There are sporadic reports of crop circles being found in England throughout the 20th century. But reports actually go back several centuries earlier. In 16th and 17th century folklore we find stories about fairies and elves seen dancing in the fields and leaving circles of trodden grass.

Since the late 1970s the number of circles has increased dramatically, especially in the southern English counties of Wiltshire and Hampshire, and the designs have become increasingly elaborate. Single swirled circles gave way to multiple circles, sometimes arranged nonrandomly. The first quintuplet (a circle surrounded by four smaller, evenly-spaced satellite circles) appeared in 1978. Later, quintuplets appeared with rings connecting their outer satellites, creating ‘Celtic crosses’. Circles with multiple concentric rings around them also started to appear.

1990 saw the first pictograms, consisting of long chains of circles, rings, rectangles, straight lines, and tridents, ‘keys’ or ‘claws’. Whales/dolphins and insectograms began to appear the following year. Crop glyphs from 1994 included ‘thought bubbles’, which by incorporating crescents mutated into glyphs resembling spiders and scorpions. That year also saw the first astronomy-related glyphs, which include galaxies, asteroid belts and planetary orbits. Since the late 1990s the formations have developed into spectacular and incredibly complex geometrical designs or mandalas. Sevenfold geometry first appeared in 1998, ninefold geometry in 1999 and elevenfold geometry in 2000. Since 1999 several crop formations have created the illusion of being three-dimensional.

In total, over 10,000 crop formations have been documented worldwide. Over 700 of them appeared in 1991. Of the 229 formations reported from around the world in 2004, 33.9% of them appeared in England, where crop circles tend to cluster around sacred megalithic sites such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury Hill. Other countries with crop circles included Germany (13.2%), the USA (9.2%), the Czech Republic (8.4%), and Italy (8.4%).

‘Spiderweb’ : Avebury, Wiltshire, 11/12 August 1994. The shimmering effect is created by the crop being laid in opposing directions.

'Solar System' glyph : Longwood Warren, Hampshire, 22 June 1995. It depicts the Sun, Mercury, Venus, the Earth’s orbit, Mars, and Jupiter’s orbit. According to Gerald Hawkins, it shows a planetary alignment that occurred on 6 November 1903, the day the Wright brothers proved that man could fly, and again on 11 July 1971, during Mariner 9’s journey to Mars.

‘Julia Set’ : Stonehenge, Wiltshire, 7 July 1996. This 115-metre-wide spiral of 151 circles appeared in broad daylight in full view of a busy road, just opposite Stonehenge, within a 15-minute time-window (according to testimony from pilots, a farmer, a security guard, and motorists calling the police). A professional surveying engineer said it would take him about two full days to lay out the design.

‘Koch fractal’ : Milk Hill, Wiltshire, 8 August 1997. Two engineering firms estimated that staking out the 346 reference points required to construct the design prior to flattening the wheat would take 6.5 to 7.5 days, or 11 days if done under cover of darkness. Yet the formation had definitely appeared overnight.

‘Mayan Sun wheel’, 350 feet across, Silbury Hill, 19/20 June 2004. This formation appeared in outline the first night, and was completed the next night. Some researchers assume that this means it must be man-made, but there is no conclusive evidence of this.

Characteristics.

In authentic crop circles, the flattened plants are largely undamaged (until visitors arrive!) and tend to continue growing, whereas in hoaxed circles the stalks are generally broken, crushed and often killed. The stalks of flattened vegetation in genuine circles are bent at angles of up to 90 degrees, and are often laid in a strikingly intricate and beautifully woven fashion.

Circular components of a design are usually swirled clockwise or anticlockwise from a centre point outwards. But instead of the swirl going round and round out from the centre in a tight spiral, as tends to be the case in man-made formations, it often flows widely outwards, sometimes in a distinct S-shape. Spirals are often made of thin strips, not 3-ft-wide swaths, as when planks or garden rollers are used. Where different flows merge, the plants tend to be plaited over and under, suggesting that all the plants have collapsed in opposing directions simultaneously.

The centre of a swirl of crop is often marked by a bare area of soil or a ‘hole’ in the middle of a whorl of stems, and is frequently offset from the mathematical centre, sometimes by several feet. In some formations individual stems have been drawn into the outer edges of circles from behind standing crop, which clearly precludes the use of physical implements. The direction of crop flow is often different below the top layer of flattened crop. Multi-tiered, multi-directional layering has never been replicated by the use of feet, planks, garden rollers or plastic pipes.

The circle-making force can apparently discriminate between the maturity of plants, for less mature plants, whether standing in a row or scattered throughout the flattened area, are sometimes left standing. The force also seems to be able to select between plant species, for red poppies or thistles may be left standing amid flattened barley or wheat. This feature, too, rules out the use of planks and garden rollers. The force is so precise that curtains of wheat one stalk wide are sometimes all that separate one circle from another.

Biophysicist William Levengood and a number of other researchers have discovered that flattened plants frequently have enlarged nodes (the little ‘knuckles’ along the stems of corn-type plants) and sometimes have ‘expulsion cavities’ in the same areas, where moisture seems to have exploded outwards. Seed germination trials have shown that when a formation occurs in immature crop, the seedlings usually do not develop, or their growth is severely reduced, but if a formation occurs in more mature crop, the seeds grow at up to five times the normal rate.

60% of circles appear on rainy nights. Yet farmers and researchers often notice that there is no mud on flattened crop, which there would have been if it had been flattened by humans using mechanical implements. Moreover, readily crushable balls of chalk are sometimes found intact beneath the flattened plants. And when a formation occurs on soil containing small, sharp rocks such as flint, the stems rest on top of the rocks without leaving crease marks, showing that no weight has been applied.

The soil inside crop circles often shows differences with the soil outside them. In one Canadian formation, for example, the soil had been baked as hard as cement, whereas the rest of field was moist and muddy. Reports of baked soil under flattened plants in crop circles also come from other countries, such as Russia. In 50% of crop circles the soil inside is noticeably drier than outside. Many of the effects on plants and soil are consistent with the generation of intense heat during the creation of crop circles.

Strange substances, such as jelly-like or powdery deposits, are sometimes found on the plants and soil inside crop circles. Powdery deposits that have been identified include high-purity silicon dioxide, magnesium oxide, and magnetite (magnetic iron ore). The latter may be meteoric dust, which is constantly drifting down through the atmosphere to the earth’s surface; the concentration in circles is up to 600 times higher than the normal value, indicating the presence of strong magnetic fields around crop circles.

Nearly 90% of crop circles appear over aquifers and/or over chalk and greensand (an olive-green sandstone). They are often aligned with ancient sacred sites and with ley lines or lines of earth energy, as detected by dowsing. The positioning of crop circles is sometimes undeniably nonrandom. For instance, three identical whale-like pictograms from 1991 formed a perfect isosceles triangle across several miles when linked with lines on a map.

Some formations seem to make use of tractor tramlines as guidelines, but others don’t. Many formations have appeared in Canada, yet Canadian fields are sprayed by airplanes so there are no tramlines to provide hoaxers with easy access to the fields. In the UK, pictograms often used to be surrounded with dozens of mini-circles, or ‘grapeshot’, a couple of feet in diameter, located in places that cannot be reached on foot without leaving obvious traces. Doug and Dave’s pole-vaulting yarns have become comedy legend.

In the case of a small percentage of formations, both simple circles and complex designs, there is clear visual evidence in the newly-planted field of the previous summer’s crop circle. The new plants in the area where the previous circle was located may be shorter or taller than the surrounding crop or slightly different in colour. This effect usually lasts no more than two years after the original formation.

Dead wild animals are rarely found in crop formations, but there have been a few exceptions. Some birds had apparently been caught up in the creation of a 1993 formation, and had been blown apart and disintegrated by the force. Mixed in with the blood and feathers were minute bits of flesh, but there were no bones, or any distinguishable or recognizable parts. Laboratory tests on some of the remains confirmed that they belonged to an ‘exploded bird’.

Two dead porcupines were found in two different Canadian crop circles. One had almost disintegrated into blackened parts and the other had been squashed like a pancake. Scrape marks and a row of standing broken quills indicated that the latter porcupine had been dragged to the centre of the formation from the perimeter. The flow of flattened quills on its body went in the same direction as the lay of the fallen crop. Analysis of the other porcupine showed that the blackness of the remains was not due to burning. Most animals probably sense something is about to happen and run away, but porcupines respond to danger by simply raising their spines and sitting tight.

In one crop formation, numerous dead flies were found stuck by their tongues to the seed heads of the plants, with their legs and wings spread out widely, as if in a spasm. Some appeared to have exploded. Other flies were still in a perfect state, but most were nevertheless dead. Some were still alive but stunned, and after being liberated from the plants, they flew away. F. Grassi argues that a fungus (Entomophtora muscae) is the most likely exlanation, rather than some mysterious circle-forming mechanism.

Meaning...

Many people believe that crop formations carry a symbolically encoded message. As with mythology, symbolism appeals to our imagination and is open to different interpretations. But most researchers would agree that crop formations are ‘mandalas of hope’ for our troubled world.

The basic element of crop glyphs is the circle, which can symbolize unity, boundless space, and the universal creative spirit or godforce. Crop circles with rings and satellite circles sometimes resemble diagrams of the chemical elements, with their orbiting electrons. For instance, a central circle orbited by four satellites (quintuplet) symbolizes the carbon atom, with its four outer electrons, as well as being reminiscent of a Celtic cross.

Two circles of differing sizes joined by an avenue can signify communication between the physical and spiritual worlds, while the absence of a joining line may signify a broken connection. A solid circle sometimes represents the male principle, and a ring or a circle with a ring the female principle. Joined by an avenue, these become symbols of the sacred marriage. However, if the arrangements of circles, rings, bars, avenues, claws, etc. found in the complex pictograms of the early 1990s represent a precise symbolic language, no one has managed to decipher it. It is noteworthy that some of these crop designs also appear in ancient petroglyphs.

Sacred geometry has taken on a key role in the increasingly complex crop glyphs that have appeared since the early 1990s. Two overlapping circles produce a vesica piscis, emblematic of the conjunction of spirit and matter, and associated with the Piscean Age. Some glyphs represent the squaring of the circle, signifying the fusion of spirit and matter.

Spirals, triangles, pentagons and pentagrams, hexagons, heptagons, octogons, etc. are all found in crop formations, each with its own symbolic connotations. An equilateral triangle, for example, can represent completion. Three-dimensionally it becomes the tetrahedron (four-sided pyramid), a key hermetic symbol, and a prime bonding pattern of matter. One of its best-known crop-glyph representations is the 1991 Barbury Castle tetrahedron. In ancient alchemy, balls on the tips of a tetrahedral triangle signify the three prime alchemical elements: salt, sulphur, mercury. The five-pointed star or pentagram (which, like the pentagon, displays the golden-mean ratio) symbolizes the human being, since a human figure with outstretched limbs fits within it. The six-pointed star or interlaced triangles (also known as Solomon’s seal or the sign of Vishnu) represents universal spirit and matter.

The spiral-shaped Stonehenge glyph can represent several things: the computer-generated fractal known as the Julia Set; the base clef symbol used in musical notation; the spiral shape found in the nautilus shell and many other natural forms; and a mammalian skeleton with the correct number of vertebrae. Some have likened the interlocking spiral motif of the Triple Julia Set to the Tibetan Buddhist symbol called the ‘wheel of joy’ (or gakyil), which symbolizes the primordial energy and also the three stages to enlightenment spoken of in Dzogchen teachings.

Despite the widespread resistance to viewing crop formations as anything other than a man-made joke, they have left an indelible mark on our culture. Their stunning beauty, geometrical grace, multicultural symbolism and mysterious origins seem intended to intrigue, enchant and inspire us. There appears to be a creative intelligence behind the majority of crop formations, but one which prefers to remain anonymous, and to leave anyone who is paying attention to draw their own conclusions, like some sort of intelligence test or intuition test.

Crop formations have been called ‘temporary temples’, and it is fitting that they should show an affinity for places which for millennia have been centres of worship and spiritual focus. In South Africa, crop circles are called ‘great circles of the gods’; when a circle appears, people erect a fence around it, and perform dances and other sacred rituals honouring the earth mother and the star gods.

Colin Andrews has said that ‘crop circles are giving us all a spiritual nudge’, ‘a push towards the higher aspirations of peace and enlightenment’. ‘We are being challenged to learn,’ he says, ‘and the tools of our instruction are ancient spiritual symbols, mandalas, and other innate, natural patterns. ... [W]e are being given a wake-up call and it is our responsibility to acknowledge the message, and take action’.

There is no telling for how much longer crop formations will continue to manifest in such great numbers and in such complex forms. Will they continue to evolve? Each year people wonder just how much more complex they can get, and every year the glyph-makers continue to spring surprises with their inventive genius. At some point – when their purpose is done or the stimulus runs dry – the glyphs will probably wind down again to rare appearances. Andy Thomas writes:

Let’s enjoy the formations while we have them and validate their significance simply by the fact they are gorgeous to look at, having made many very happy and left us carved a little deeper and a little wiser by the questions and issues they have raised. ...
For one thing everyone agrees on, even the most committed sceptics, is that wherever they come from, the glyphs are art of the highest order. ...
If grace and beauty are all the crop circles have brought into our world, we have reason enough to be thankful.

‘Triple Julia Set’ : Avebury Trusloe, Wiltshire, 29 July 1996. 196 perfectly graded circles spiral out from the centre and extend to a diameter of over 1000 ft. Joining the centres of corresponding circles in each of the three arms with three lines generates a series of equilateral triangles, spiralling, rotating and expanding from the centre outwards with awesome precision. A US surveying company stated that to mark out the Triple Julia Set to this degree of accuracy would take three to five days, adding two days for calculation time and another three if working at night.

'Sunflower/Crown Chakra' : Woodborough Hill, Wiltshire, 13 August 2000, made out of 308 triangles of standing crop. It is composed of 44 spirals based on phi (φ) or the golden mean (ratio 1:1.618), a spiral that is difficult to draw, even on paper.

UK Crop Circle Season 2009 : April

Crop Circle Season 2009 is now underway, and we have our first few 'entrants'...

Reported 14th April, the first formation of 2009 has occurred once again in Wiltshire (Southern England), not far from the Ancient Standing Stones of Avebury. Its appearance has a certain resonance to it, as if it is vibrating from within the Oil Seed Rape! This is certainly a very early example of a formation in this colourful crop, however, because of the immaturity of the crop, its outline will slowly disappear within the growing plants. Located next to an ancient burial mound, once again we see the continued connection to important ancient sites. A befitting start to what I'm sure is going to be a fascinating season.

How exciting - the first one of the year! My impression is of a vibration or frequency radiating out in dual directions from a central point, quite like Cymatics at work. An interesting start to the season.

The second formation came down on April the 19th at West Kennett Longbarrow, near Avebury, Wiltshire:

Incorporating the (8) 'Infinity Symbol', a Spider Web-like design, and a stylised Goddess energy (complete with reflection)...this one also comes across as a 'cosmic map' of sorts. Enigmatic.

The third formation appeared on the 23rd of April near Avebury, Wiltshire. Many 'croppies' are theorising that it could be a statement on the upcoming Solar Storm of 2012...

This latest striking design, situated on Rutlands Farm just outside the Stone Circle of Avebury village has an uncanny connection to some rather alarming news which has come to light about our own Sun. According to calculations a huge Solar Storm could hit the planet earth in only three years time. That's right, 2012! Perhaps this is the message given in this new formation. Solar Storms are swarms of electrically charged subatomic particles from the Sun, which buffet the Earth causing problems for orbiting satellites, which have delicate electronics. On the ground we witness them as the Northern and Southern Lights. However a few times throughout history the Sun ejects enormous swarms, which can cause serious damage to our electrical power structure causing catastrophic harm to our modern-day global structures. Perhaps we need to not only keep an eye on the ground, but also to the heavens...?

Reported on the 24th April at Morgan's Hill, near Devizes, Wiltshire...could this Crop Circle be a stylised version of the stunning Sun Formation from the day before?

Appearing on April 25th (at Liddington Castle Fort, near Chiseldon, Wiltshire) was this rather lacklustre formation (measuring just under 100ft) which appears to me to be quite obviously man-made. Judge for yourself:

As you can see from the aerial view, this design is a rather 'modest' formation, and can in no way compare to the other complex and impressive designs that have appeared so far this year. It's kind of comforting to know that the fake ones stand-out (and glaringly so!) compared to the 'genuine' ones...

Reported on April 29th at Roundway Hill, near Devizes, Wiltshire...This formation was discovered in rape seed above the Roundway Hill white horse near Devizes. Dimensions - about 200ft.

The OM-page is about discoveries and conclusions about the OM which has been known throughout the ages as a spiritual symbol of a sound or vibration or energy. It also has a graphic symbol attached to it. This graphic symbol has some similarity to the image of the center of our galaxy. At the very center of the center scientists discovered, what they call a "Black Hole". So, if the OM-symbol represents the Galactic Center, vice versa the Galactic Center has a certain meaning to our life, which has been emphasized by saints, shamans & mystics through the ages.
Since the sound OM is recognized to be the holy vibration that connects all existence, the question comes up how the "Black Hole", sitting in the center of our galaxy is connected to our spirituality. AUM/OM-chanting was practiced thousands of years ago by many or even all cultures, shamanic and more civilized ones as well. Even the Christian AMEN is rooted in the sound AUM. The Vedas, the Mayan legends and those of many other civilisations contain knowledge about the structure of our galaxy and the center explicitly mentioned. Hunab Ku, Om or Black Sun are some of the other names given to the Galactic Center.

Aahh - Crop Circles...my Life's enduring passion.

In the early 1990s, two old men (in their 60s) - Doug & Dave, came forward and proclaimed to the world that they had done all the formations of the 80s. In all the territories of Southern England. Every night. Sometimes two or three a night. Under the veil of darkness. Without their wives ever finding out. Perfect designs every time. Even in the rain. With no one ever catching them... Hmmm.

There's a theory that they were paid by the government to spread a form of 'disinformation', so that the public would back off. Curiouser & curiouser.

Needless to say, one of those men has now since died. On average there are about 100-150 formations every year in England alone. They're getting more intricate, more prolific, more creative and more stunning. And more interactive with human thought it seems (when I settled on the name OM two years ago - an OM Formation appeared on the other side of the planet around the same time!).

They appear all over the world (Australia was actually one of the first countries in the world to get a 'circle' - way back in the 1966 - though it was called a 'Saucer Nest' at the time). They appear in all types of crop. They inspire, uplift, baffle, energise, bewilder & educate (one formation even featured a previously unknown mathematical theorem!). And I'm fanatical about them. 'Something' about them has me under a spell of some sort. And I've dedicated a large portion of my life to documenting & reporting them, to studying & understanding them. Don't know why exactly, but I'm hooked.

Yes, some are done by hand (or more precisely, by foot) - but really...you CAN tell which ones! Here's an example... Can You tell the man-made version from the 'genuine' one?

As for them being one big graphic design hoax, I went over to England (again) in the summer of 2003 (been twice now), just to visit them. And I tell you, they're real. They certainly do exist. I walked through almost a dozen of them. My camera broke in the first one I entered. They do make you dizzy & lightheaded. They're definate 'energy' centers. They do give you tingles up the spine. Even flocks of birds will separate to fly over a formation. Whilst I was there, I met so many wonderful different people from various countries around the world. They bring people together. Awe-inspiring & simply breathtaking, enigmatic & mysterious...here's a phenomenon that just gets more perplexing & ONEderful each year.

2012 : Shift Happens...

The world is abuzz with talk of the year 2012; however, not everyone is looking forward to that year with the same outlook or expectations. For some, 2012 hints ominously at disastrous 'end times', a period in which the world will be thrown into utter chaos, with violent upheavals of both natural and man-made origin, possibly leading to the extinction of life as we know it. More optimistic people anticipate a moment of awakening, marked by a global transformation of consciousness, and perhaps even 'the return of the Christ consciousness', and so they are looking forward to 2012 as a time of joy and celebration. Cultures from all around the world for many thousands of years have pointed to this current era we live in as a time of unprecedented change for the Earth and all of humanity. Both the Judeo-Christian and Islamic end time scenarios, which are based upon Western fundamentalist interpretations of Abrahamic thought, foresee a time of literal cleansing. In these traditions, the Earth will suffer through the coming of the Four Horsemen bearing 'gifts' of war, famine, plague and death – with the ultimate judgment day not too far behind.

For Christians, who refer to the Book of Revelation from the Bible and awaiting rapture, or Shiites counting the days until the 12th Imam appears, almost everything that is happening in our world today is pointing to the imminent end times. Judging by the sheer number of predicted end dates that have come and gone without the trumpets blowing and angels rushing in, the people leaning towards apocalyptic scenarios seem to be impatient to see our world 'redeemed' through catastrophe. So far, they have been wrong – and they could be in for yet another anticlimactic 'doomsday' when the world as we know it is supposedly set to end, but doesn't. However things are a little different with 2012 than with any other apocalypse prediction we have seen previously. For one thing, the year 2012 being marked as some sort of major turning-point in human history is a global phenomenon, rather than a cultural one. But before we get there and see what various cultures and traditions have to say about these times, let's take a quick look at previously predicted 'end times' which just turned out to be yet another day under the sun.

END TIMES:

To mention a few examples: Christians in Europe attacked pagan territories in the north to prepare for the end of the world at the turn of the first millennium; the Shakers believed the world would end in 1792; there was the 'Great Disappointment' among followers of the Baptist preacher William Miller when Jesus did not return to upstate New York on October 22, 1844. The Jehovah's Witnesses have been especially prodigious with prophetic end times, with dates in 1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975 and 1994 all at one time having been offered by them for the end of the world.

Because of their nature, offering a certain and redemptive 'way out' of the world and its problems, virtually any religious movement with an end-time prophecy is likely to attract some followers, no matter how maniacal or fringy the underlying philosophy or theology may be. For those who want to go online and get the latest tally of 'bad/good news', there is a nuclear Doomsday Clock and the Rapture Index. If you remember living through Y2K – that was another millenarian moment, except that it had more to do with computer code than some universal final moment.

Mention the word apocalypse and most people think of end times of Biblical proportions and of doomsday scenarios that are the current favoured subject of some 2012 prophecy interpreters. However, the word apocalypse finds its roots in the Greek work 'apokalypsis' which is a verb meaning 'to lift the veil' or to reveal something. Though some people may see this as a cataclysmic change of the material realm, others perceive the apocalypse simply to mean a metaphysical change or a paradigm shift of consciousness – meaning, in their terms, that the year 2012 is the end of a cycle/age, not the end of the human race. This wider meaning is supported by other cultural traditions which also see 2012, or thereabouts, as the end of some specific great cycle or era, and the beginning of a new one.

Among the best examples of this is the Hindu notion of yugas or ages that mark a cyclical pattern of both external and internal creation and destruction. This ongoing cycle, or kalpa, also has an end date when, according to Hindu belief, the final avatar (saviour-like being) will incarnate as Kali (Hindu god of creation and destruction) and bring about the destruction of all wicked people. Many see this current time, termed the Kali Yuga in the Hindu system, as the end of an era of the time of man and the coming 'yuga' as a golden age of many 'Enlightened Ones'.

This leads us to other prophecies and hypotheses, including Terence McKenna's numerological novelty theory, suggesting a point of singularity in which humankind will go through a great shift in consciousness, and Daniel Pinchbeck's book, '2012 : The Year of the Mayan Prophecy', which discusses theories of a possible global awakening to a psychic connection by the year 2012.

Beyond modern theories, one may go back in time to discover that most of the oldest creation stories and mythologies from around the world tell of a cosmic cycle punctuated by a big ending of one era and a new beginning of peace, harmony and enlightenment. In every one, the time in which these two eras merge – that is, right now – is marked by enormous upheaval.

The indigenous people – those who live in respectful relationship with Mother Earth, understanding our inherent 'sacred nature' and connectedness to the harmony and greater movements of the universe – share wisdom that goes across cultures and which is deemed by some to be far truer and more precious than anything modern science or religion could ever teach. This is because these people carry within them teachings and human experience which are vastly older than our Western technologically-based society's memories, and which include previous end-time era changes.

The wisdom of these indigenous cultures tell us it is time to listen. We are in the time of what some Amerindian people call the birthing of 'the rainbow generation', the 5th world of peace, described as a time of paradox of great purification and great possibility. The Hopi's call this the time before the great change Koyanasquatsi, meaning life out of balance. The Incas call this the Pachacutti, when the world will be turned upside down. Whatever the name they give it, many Native Americans see 2012 as the dawning of the new era. It is considered by anthropological experts that it is no co-incidence that December 2012 also marks the end of a long cycle in the Mayan Calendar.

So it seems that the ancient 'wise ones' foretold of this change, and the signs that precede it. Some observers believe they left us a simple road map to follow and that doing so reduces the chaos of the process. Following them, it is thought, we can understand what is happening around us and use this knowledge to make the transition easier on ourselves. Let's take a look in a little more detail at what these various traditions have to say about the difficult days that herald the 'end of an epoch'.

THE HOPI:

According to Frank Waters' 'Book of the Hopi', the Native American Hopi people say that we are in the fourth of seven eras – the Fourth World – and that we are approaching the transition to the Fifth World. The First World ended by fire; the Second ended when the Earth 'teetered off balance', causing floods and an ice age; and the Third ended in a flood (at a time co-inciding roughly with that of the Mesopotamian, Judeo-Christian and other inundation mythologies). There will be, say the Hopi, a 'Great Purification' just before the start of the Fifth World as our Fourth World comes to its end.

Hopi Elders have passed these warnings and prophecies from generation to generation through oral traditions and reference to ancient rock pictographs and tablets. Their ancient prophecy states, 'When the Blue Star Kachina (Sirius) makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge. This will be the Day of Purification. It will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask.'

For them, this will be the alarm clock that tells humanity of the new day and new way of life, that a new world is coming and this is the point where the changes will begin in earnest.

As one Hopi elder has said: 'Those who return to the ways given to us in the original teachings, and live a natural way of life will not be touched by the coming of the Purifier. They will survive and build the new world. Only in the ancient teachings will the ability to understand the messages be found.' For them, this is only a doom and gloom story if we choose to experience it as such, since everything in Hopi philosophy is based on choice.

Others pointing to this period of changing times, like the Dogon of West Africa, say that the 'original visitors' will return in a spaceship that has the form of a blue star. The Cherokee's ancient calendar ends in 2012, just like the Mayan. In Egypt, the stone calendar of the Great Pyramid also indicates that the present time cycle ends in 2012, according to some interpretations of its time scales. The Incas refer to this time as the 'Age of Meeting Ourselves Again', while the Maoris say that the veils will dissolve and there will be a merging of the physical and spiritual worlds.

Moses Shongo, the last of the traditional Seneca medicine men, died in 1925 and prepared his granddaughter, Twylah Nitsch, to carry on his teachings. These teachings included a prophecy that there would be, 'a 25-year period of purification lasting until the year 2012 or so, during which the Earth will purge itself'. Another Native American, a Pueblo Indian from Northern New Mexico, called Speaking Wind, has recently confirmed that the Fifth World will start in December 2012. However, Willaru Huayta, a Peruvian spiritual messenger from the Quechua nation, says that in 2013, a 'huge magnetic asteroid' will pass close to Earth, and only those who have conquered their egos will survive. This more catastrophic version is echoed by local Zulu shaman, Vusamazulu Credo Mutwa, who says that in the year of the red bull (2012), a 'star with a very long tail' called Mu-sho-sho-no-no will return. The last time it came, it brought a deluge and turned the World upside-down, so that 'the Sun rose in the south and set in the north', he adds.

And lastly, Hopi Elders have noticed the striking similarities between their sacred symbols and the Crop Circle glyphs appearing in the fields in England - indicating to them, the 'Signs' heralding our entrance into the Fifth World.

2012 GOES MAINSTREAM:

The year 2012 first entered mainstream public consciousness over two decades ago with the Harmonic Convergence organised by José Argüelles. Argüelles is also one of the originators of the Earth Day concept and is recognised as the 'father of the Whole Earth Festival', now in its 33rd year at Davis, California.

Holding a PhD in art history and aesthetics from the University of Chicago, Argüelles' career as an educator has included professorships at Princeton University, University of California Davis, the Evergreen State College, Olympia Washington, the Naropa Institute, San Francisco State University, the University of Colorado and the Union Graduate School. He is considered by his academic peers as a world expert in his field.

It is his pioneering research of the Mayan calendar system that has absorbed his energies most passionately. Ever since he had a visionary experience at the age of 14 atop the Pyramid of the Sun, Teotihuacan, Mexico in 1953, he has pursued a lifelong investigation of the mathematics and prophecies associated with the Mayan calendar.

An artist, as well as an author, his numerous books include the international best seller 'The Mayan Factor' which is based on his 33 years of research and study, 'Earth Ascending', 'Surfers of the Zuvuya', 'The Arcturus Probe' and the most recent book, 'Time and the Technosphere: The Law of Time in Human Affairs'. Prior to all these books, he wrote 'The Transformative Vision', whose historical scheme was based on the prophecy of the 'Thirteen Heavens and Nine Hells' which ended with the Harmonic Convergence in 1987. This information was passed onto him in 1970 by Tony Shearer who had also written a book called Lord of the Dawn: Quetzalcoatl and the Tree of Life. Both these men shared a passion for this era of time.

WHAT IS THE HARMONIC CONVERGENCE?

Argüelles promoted the Harmonic Convergence as an earth-changing event requiring 144000 participants – the number echoed Mayan mathematics and the Book of Revelation – to free the planet from the dissonant influence of Western science and synchronise with the 'wave harmonic of history' set to culminate in 2012.

This world-wide event took place on August 16 and August 17, 1987, and was centred on a number of 'sacred' places throughout the world, from Stonehenge in the UK, Sedona in Arizona, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to Dunn Meadow in Bloomington in Indiana, to mention but a few where thousands of people from all walks of life gathered together to usher in a new era. Events began on August 15, culminating with the convergence itself on the 16th of August. Participants engaged in collective prayer, song, meditation, dance, and rituals.

The Harmonic Convergence was a global awakening to love and unity through divine transformation and divine channelling of sacred information. According to Argüelles' interpretation of Maya cosmology, the selected date marked the end of 22 cycles of 52 years each, or 1144 years in all. The 22 cycles were divided into 13 'heaven' cycles, which began in 843CE and ended in 1519, when the nine 'hell' cycles began, ending 468 years later in 1987.

This event came at the end of these 'hell' cycles and the beginning, in Argüelles' understanding of the Mayan system, of a 'new age' of universal peace. The idea of a 'new age' is in no small measure a result of Argüelles' work and writings. Adherents believed that signs indicated a 'major energy shift' was about to occur, a turning point in Earth's collective 'karma and dharma' (fate), and that this energy was powerful enough to change the global perspective of man from one of conflict to one of co-operation.

According to Argüelles and others, the Harmonic Convergence also began the final 26-year countdown to the end of the Mayan Long Count in 2012, which would be the 'end of known history' and the beginning of a new 5125-year cycle. All the evils of the modern world – war, materialism, violence, injustice, governmental abuse of power, etc – would end, they said, with the birth of the 6th Sun and the 5th Earth on December 21, 2012.

WHO ARE THE MAYA?

The Olmecs, the first known and named major civilisation inhabiting Mesoamerica, are said by mainstream archaeologists to have arrived there between 1800BCE and 1500BCE. Several Maya scholars now agree that the calendars used by the Maya were developed by the Olmecs in a town called Izapa, which became populated between 1500BCE and 800BCE, and which the Maya inhabited from about 250BCE. The Maya reached remarkable intellectual and artistic heights during the classic period of their great civilisation. They built huge temples and pyramid complexes, inscribed stone monuments, made major advances in mathematics and astronomy, and developed complex hieroglyphic scripts. But their great civilisation underwent a mysterious collapse that would leave their mighty temples and pyramids abandoned. There are many theories for this abandonment, which is a topic for discussion in a future post.

The ruins in Central America that we see today are but a fraction of what the Mayans created and it is believed the jungles of that region still hold many of their secrets intact. One of the most impressive ruins is Tikal, in the Guatemalan rain forest, which thrived as an urban centre at the height of Mayan civilisation. It is a sprawling former metropolis of pyramids, palaces, residences, ball-courts and scores of engraved monumental stones, or stelae, decorated with intricate, otherworldly images and hieroglyphs.

A common misconception is that all the 'Maya disappeared' when their cities emptied. However there are six million Maya currently living all over the states of Central America and, even more importantly, there are many today who are still following the same day count calendar as their distant ancestors.

That is not to say all of them do, because the Spanish conquered that part of the world in the early 16th century and many of the traditions, art and writings were burned and destroyed by Catholic priests. Much knowledge was lost. Maya priests were forced into hiding, often deep in the jungle. They could only practice their culture in the most remote areas of Central America. Those who were caught were murdered. This practice continued up to the late 1980s. The Maya knew this was going to happen – it was written in their prophecy over 2000 years earlier. It is interesting to note that the Maya fought long and hard against the Spanish and later the Mexicans to keep their customs, calendars and traditions alive almost up to current day and now their knowledge is the central theme in the global 2012 debate.

THE MAYAN CALENDARS:

The Maya understood around 17 different calendars based on the various rhythms of the Cosmos. Some of these calendars look back as far as 10 million years and are so difficult that you need the combined efforts of an astronomer, astrologer, geologist, and a mathematician just to work out the calculations. They also made tables predicting eclipses and the orbit of the planet Venus and other heavenly bodies.

The Mayan calendars are designed around many cycles and that is why there are so many of them; between them they account for the many overlapping subtle energies that are meant, in the Mayan understanding, to keep things in a state of dynamically changing balance. But taking the Mayan calendars literally, one-by-one, is as dangerous as self-serving fundamentalists taking selective teachings from their scripture literally. One must be able to understand all the cycles and their overlapping implications, and piece them together as you would a puzzle, to interpret the whole message. Both the geometry and hidden intent are sacred and important to interpreting and predicting the events of the past, present and future.

Briefly, the calendars that are most important to 'ordinary' people are the Haab, the Tun and the Tzolkin. The Tzolkin is the most important of all, and the one with the most influence.

The Haab is based in the cycles of earth. It has 360 + 5 days, totalling 365 days. It uses 18 months with 20 days in each month. There is a 19th month called a Uayeb and uses the 5 extra days, and to the Maya this month of five days was considered to be a dangerous time. Each month has its own name/glyph and each day uses a sacred sun-glyph.

The Tun is the moon calendar. It uses 28-day cycles that mirror the feminine moon cycle. This cycle of the moon is broken down into four smaller cycles, of seven days each. These smaller cycles are the four phases of moon cycle.

The Tzolkin is the sacred calendar of the Maya and is based on the cycles of the Pleiadies. The cycle of the Pleiadies uses 26000 years, but is reflected in the calendar by encompassing a 260-day system based around the period of human gestation, according to the still-surviving descendents of the Maya who live in the highlands of Guatemala. It uses the sacred numbers 13 and 20. The 13 represents the primary numbers and 20 represents the sun-glyphs used in this particular calendar. It was and still is used to determine character traits and time harmonics.

The Tzolkin calendar was meshed with the 365-day Haab calendar. It took 52 years for the Tzolkin and Haab calendars to move through a complete combined cycle and was called a calendar round.

The Maya measured long time periods by means of a 'Long Count', in which one 360-day year (a tun) consists of eighteen 20-day months (uinals). Twenty of these tuns add up to a katun and 20 katuns make a baktun. Still using their sacred numbers 13 and 20, 13 baktuns add up to 1872000 days (5200 tuns, or about 5125 years).

1 uinal = 20 kins = 20 days

1 tun = 18 uinals = 360 days

1 katun = 20 tuns = 7 200 days

1 baktun = 20 katuns = 144000 days

13 baktuns = 1 Great Cycle = 1872000 days

Archaeologists and many researchers claim that the Maya began counting time as of year 3114BCE (known as day 0.0.0.0.0. The start of this 13-baktun cycle on the 11th August 3114 BCE, and the end date of this cycle (known as 13.0.0.0.0) is on 21st December, 2012CE.

Argüelles was probably the first to point out (in his book 'The Mayan Factor') that since the Tzolkin is composed of 260 kin, or days, and the 13-baktun cycle is composed of 260 katuns, the 13-baktun cycle is thus a harmonic of the Tzolkin, being exactly 7200 times larger. This means that the 13 x 20 Tzolkin layout can be used to map history, as if it is measuring not individual gestation, but species gestation, and five of the 13-baktun cycles add to exactly 26000 tun; the 'grand year' or precession of the equinoxes, a yet higher harmonic of 260 (referring back to a 13 x 20 multiple).

PRECESSION OF THE EQUINOXES & GALACTIC ALIGNMENT:

Maya scholar John Major Jenkins is an independent researcher who has devoted himself to reconstructing ancient Mayan cosmology and philosophy. He has authored dozens of articles and many books including, 'Galactic Alignment : The Transformation of Consciousness', 'Maya Cosmogenesis 2012' and 'Tzolkin: Visionary Perspectives and Calendar Studies'. He has made a strong case that the Long Count calendar of the Maya was actually a device for tracking the cycle of precession of the equinoxes. This is the 26000 year cycle in which the Earth's axis, which is 23.5° off vertical, rotates in a circle, and is measured by the movement of constellations against the fixed positions of the rising equinox or solstice sun. In his book 'Maya Cosmogenesis 2012', he shows that the 13-baktun cycle is a 5th and final cycle in the 26000-year precession of the equinoxes, and on December 21st 2012, the solstice sun will align with the Dark Rift in the Milky Way, which the Maya called the Mount of the Crocodile, the 'crocodile tree' being the Milky Way itself.

So to summarise, in 2012 the plane of our solar system will line up exactly with the plane of our galaxy, the Milky Way. This cycle has taken 26000 years to complete – truly a cosmic event.

According to Jenkins, this galactic alignment stimulates consciousness evolution on this planet, whether or not beings alive during the alignment era are aware of it happening. However, it is likely that this is the first time that humans as a whole are consciously aware of it and could, in his view, therefore take the opportunity of a leap in individual and collective consciousness provided by this event.

The Mayans themselves have suggested that their 2012 end date is really nothing more than the finishing point of a particular age or 'underworld' – the one we are living in right now, the Galactic Underworld, and the entry point to the Universal Underworld of both conscious evolution and revolution, which is to follow. There is nothing in Mayan tradition, lore or belief that envisages a scenario in which we will all die and the planet will cease to exist. Rather, the idea is one of amazing and collective rebirth. A period of newfound cosmic awareness, an era in which humanity expands their collective conscious awareness. In fact, the Maya called the last day of the Great Cycle, Creation Day.

CALENDAR WARS:

It needs to be mentioned that calendar wars have existed since the dawn of ages, including in the time of the early Egyptians, and continues today between the Maya themselves, religious scholars and Western mathematicians and cosmologists. In Egyptian oral tradition, the sage-god Thoth was banished from Egypt because he was insistent on using a calendar aligned with the star system Sirius, while the other gods wanted to use calendars that aligned with their own respective star systems and power bases.

A calendar plays a significant role in the life of a society. Usually it tells people what events to commemorate and celebrate and what they are supposed to consider as being part of their tradition. So, today the Gregorian calendar implicitly places a great role on Jesus, while the Muslim calendar places its emphasis on Muhammad. Whichever calendar was established as the primary calendar during the various eras and cultures provided that particular god or institution with the ultimate power to control the masses.

Expanding on that, the Gregorian calendar, according to Carl Johan Calleman and many others, conveys a certain world-view based on the very way that it is structured. It conditions people to a view of creation that is not going anywhere and so has no higher purpose. In the same sense as this calendar is based on the mechanical year of the planet, and endless revolutions of Earth around the sun, life with this calendar comes to be perceived as an endless merry-go-round and people view their lives and purpose in a similar way. As a consequence, human beings would not have any responsibility to live according to some unfolding divine plan, of which the planet, its movements and the heavenly bodies were also crucial parts, and so eventually even the planet itself may be regarded just as dead matter to be exploited. Viewed from this perspective, a whole subconscious world-view is actually linked to the particular calendar we use and the effects of this are partly overt (such as through the celebration of Christian or national holidays) and partly insidious (such as in promoting a mechanical world-view where life has no higher purpose).

Calleman, author of 'The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind', 'The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness', and 'Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time: The Mayan Calendar', is a former cancer researcher from Sweden whose calculations have led him to a controversial end date of his own devising: October 28, 2011 – that's nearly 14 months sooner than most people think is the end of the Mayan calendar.

Calleman's view is that the Mayan Calendar provides an exact schedule for the 'Cosmic Plan' and the unfolding of all things that come into existence. He goes on to say that there is now ample empirical evidence for this, something that shines new light on the age-old questions of mankind. In his view, things do exist for a reason – and, for serious students, the Mayan calendar becomes a gateway to the worlds of consciousness which the majority of humanity has been blinded to through the use of false or delusory calendars.

Another excellent person for an in depth look into 2012 is Geoff Stray. His research into 2012 started about 25 years ago, and was first summarised in a now-rare booklet called 'Beyond 2012:A Convergence of Eschatological Information'. In September 2000 this was compiled on a website, '2012 Dire Gnosis', which was designed to gather more input from people all over the world. This has become the internet's leading database on 2012. In 2005, he published 'Beyond 2012, Catastrophe or Ecstasy: A Complete Guide to End-of-Time Predictions', bringing all the research together into what some are calling the '2012 encyclopedia'. IS TIME SPEEDING UP?

Time is actually speeding up (or collapsing), according to both conventional cosmologists, and to some unconventional thinkers on the subject. For thousands of years, as best we can tell, the Schumann Resonance or pulse (heartbeat) of Earth has been 7.83 cycles per second. The military have used this as a very reliable reference for various purposes. However, since 1980, this resonance has been slowly rising, and more rapidly so in recent years. It is now over 12 cycles per second. This means there is the equivalent of less than 16 hours per day instead of the old 24 hours. Another interpretation is that we, or rather 'consciousness' as we collectively represent that, has or have been down this same road seven times before over the last 14-billion or so years. According to some of the oldest calendar systems on the planet, like the Mayans, each of these 'cycles of Creation' runs 20 times faster than the last one. The same amount of 'Creation' is paced 20 times tighter. This is why time seems to be going so fast, even to people who are not even remotely 'sensitive' or 'spiritual'. It is not so much that 'time' is going faster – there are still only 24 hours in any one day-night period, each made up of the same number of seconds, minutes and hours as before – but, in terms of the inner timing of cycles, as understood by the Maya and others, it is 'Creation' itself that is accelerating.

Of all the theories, including those involving comets, rogue planets, asteroids, galactic core explosions, mega-sunspot cycles, obliquity harmonics and unusual conjunctions, that various researchers have put forward to explain 2012, there is one theory that is so well scientifically grounded that is almost universally considered valid, at least in terms of its data if not its hypothesis, by even the most conservatively-minded. Alexey Dmitriev, a Russian geologist, has analysed the increasing changes in Earth's weather and seismic phenomena, plus recent changes to the planet's geomagnetic field. He has also taken into account solar changes, and changes to the weather and magnetic fields of all the other planets in the solar system. A '10-fold increase to the layer of deflected interstellar plasma on the heliosphere boundary', he has found, indicates that the solar system is headed into an area of 'magnetised plasma', that Dmitriev says is causing these changes. So far, so good. When it comes to interpreting what this means, Dmitriev loses some of his fellow scientists. According to him, an increasing incidence of plasma balls in the atmosphere is a sign of the imminent 'transformation of Earth', involving an interaction with processes beyond the three-dimensional world. You may have already heard about this theory but phrased differently as in perhaps someone speaking or writing about the so-called 'photon-belt'. Some have proposed this as a stream of high-level energy emanating from the centre of our galaxy, much like a stream of X-rays or gamma rays might be shot out of a collapsing black hole, only the energy form is of a different kind, affecting both physical life and consciousness fields.

Regardless of whether or not you follow this Russian investigator all the way to the conclusion that he reaches, one thing is clear, ancient or modern, mythical or scientific, each concept that deals with the issue of 2012 (or thereabouts, give or take a year) speaks to its own people in symbols they will understand, and all refer to this time of our history when humanity will be faced with making fateful choices which will determine our future. Either we will become a planet of co-operative nations or a self-destructing war zone of people competing for dwindling resources.

The Mayan Calendar, The Book of Revelations, and Hopi prophecies and many others like them, some referred to in this article, apparently all contain elements of universal truth, whether or not 2012 is an actual date or a symbol for some kind of threshold which man and womankind will one day soon reach. Maybe it is not for any individual or institution to decipher these communications, for to do so only introduces interpretative beliefs from the dominant paradigm. This causes everyone to be so caught up in the semantics that we miss the big picture. In other words, maybe we should look at the overall theme and leave all the minute details out.

Many events in this current decade have made people of our world all the more aware that something is terribly wrong on this planet and a time of choice and change is upon us. Not only is our environment in danger of collapsing in on itself (and us), but humanity is in danger of annihilating itself: humans killing all other humans and every other living thing with them. The planet hangs in great imbalance on every level and, by nature, will find a way to regain that balance. Things will have to change, whether we like it or not and whether we consciously and constructively co-operate with that change or not.

Even if we were to ignore completely the Mayan Long Count Calendar, and even if we did not ascribe credence to the religious traditions that predict total human annihilation at the hands of a final battle between good and evil, there is still ample evidence that the following years will be rife with chaos, disorder and destruction.

Surprisingly, the greatest challenges that face humanity and the earth in general all seem to be preventable. With that said, the biggest mystery is why we are not doing more to prevent them now, while we still can and when it truly counts. Global climate change is creating a need for new ways of co-existing with the earth. Already, water shortages are threatening to derail peace agreements and further escalate already tense relations between nations into outright war. Even the decreasing rates of food production, coupled with over-inflated prices and a global market that favours the rich, hint at another coming disaster: the spread of famine into regions never having experienced lack of food before.

HOW TO PREPARE?

So what can we do as individuals, communities, and nations? How does one prepare for 2012? If the world is going to end for good, then obviously no preparation is needed. However, if the Mayans, indigenous people and others were right, and the ending is really more of a beginning, can we indeed prepare at all?

The green movement, focusing on building sustainability now, is a great place to start. We should be doing anything possible to make the coming changes less disruptive and damaging, whether that means conserving, recycling or raising awareness of the carbon 'footprints' we each leave – and how we can lessen those footprints. Local communities are already springing up around the concept of contained, sustainable living, with residents pitching in by growing food, sharing water resources, bartering services and even watching out for each other's children to create a new sense of connectedness and unity. Should this effort spread, we may be able to greatly diminish the potential for death, disaster and disease that our overpopulated, stressed-out and soon-to-be-tapped out planet is quickly plummeting towards.

Maybe that is what this is really all about – a shift in consciousness, internal transformation that will extend into external change. Even with increasing numbers of super-storms and earthquakes, an asteroid or two coming too close for comfort, the highest sunspot cycle activity in years, global shifts in political and economic power, and a host of other earthbound changes, we may need to concentrate on the internal work to be done first. Spiritual transformation is on the lips of many awaiting 2012. Perhaps by altering our collective consciousness, we can change not only our own lives, but our destiny as a people. As far as the 2012 date is concerned, we should not wait until the December solstice of that year to take action. Clearly all of this does not centre on one date. The time to take action is now. Many of us are afraid of what is coming, but if the ancient wisdom and modern interpretations are right, we shouldn't be. Fear constricts and binds us to the old paradigm. What we need now is the courage to face and transmute the essential energy of that fear into right action. There is a great world waiting for us to birth into being, one of love and generosity and wisdom and compassion. Wouldn't it be great to wake up on the first morning of 2013 to a better world than we ever imagined? Let the Acceleration begin!

My Sign-Nature

Namaste.

I've recently made a ONEderful, new friend - a fellow Game Player. Through our many in-SITE-fully lucid conversations, I've come to real-eyes & re-member many things. He's offered many, many gems & shone many a light - in particular, about my chosen (ex) Profile Picture. He's also given me some new terms to smile over : 'Sign-Nature' (signature); 'pointylism'; etc. I feel like standing up and shouting 'Bravo, Bravo' to him. It feels like, FINALLY, someone 'gets' me!

Yes, as soon as I saw this particular Crop Formation, an immediate thought was of those old nail/point boards that you'd put your face or hand up against. It made me think of 'piercing the veil'; of pressing through dimensions or vibrations - leaving one's imprint (I'm Print-ing) within another world or realm. You've probably noticed I'm quite into Crop Formations & have quite the affinity with Space (both inner & outer). So this Sign-Nature fit like a perfectly fitting mask!

Rather than a 'grey face', I see it more as a human/alien hybrid of sorts - both androgynous & inter-galactic. As you saw in the clip, it accompanied an extraterrestrial 'reply' to a message (Mess-Age) we, ourselves, sent out into space in 1973 (incidently - the year I was born!). I love espousing that I'm another point of You...so what better 'face' to have than one composed of many points! Like a Chinese Puzzle expert - This 'other me' got it all. Much Kudos to my friend. Smiling widely : I AM!

Regarding the actual 3D Face Crop Formation. In my mind, it's one of the most enigmatic & compelling formations (they can hardly be called 'crop CIRCLES' anymore!) that I've ever seen. And the first 3D face we ever received. I love & strongly resonate with it - that's why I use it as my 'face', because it means quite a lot to me.

Because it appeared with the Arecibo 'reply', it makes it all the more intriguing (I love too, how the being appears to be androgynous and not quite 'human' or 'alien'...). I've studied this reply (to the radio message Earth sent out in 1973 from the Arecibo Dish in Puerto Rico) and it's just soooo fascinating & revealing. A year after this particular face (& reply) came down, the bigger alien-with-information-disc appeared. That's when the 3D Faces era began - with my little 'face' being the forerunner.

That's why I chose it - because to me, it represents the 'face' of our Cosmic Self...our YOUniversALL Being-ness...our Galactic Face - looking back, expectantly, at us. And...funnily enough, it does actually look a little like me!!!

My friend commented that it doesn't look too happy? My impression was more that its expression showed an enigmatic serenity...a silent peace...The calm observer.

I've always thought it bore an uncanny resemblance to me. When this particular formation appeared, it was like looking into a mirror. Definately quite astounding. To me anyway! As a result, I've now replaced my 'cosmic' face with my 'human' face as my Profile pic.

A cyber friend sent this link to me recently. It's probably the best (& most genuine-looking) UFO footage I've ever seen. Today being the purported day of Cosmic Contact, it seems rather fitting and timely too! It seems that 'they' have been appearing over Eastern (& Middle Eastern) skies for awhile now...but it's when they start appearing over Western skies (in a very obvious way) that the world will begin to take notice! And about time too.

This extraordinary incident took place in a compound in Kumburgaz/Istanbul, and was witnessed by many residents and filmed by the same night guard Yalcin Yalman as it was in 2007. The images captured are expected to have a tremendous impact throughout the world and be listed as "the most important UFO/extraterrestrial images ever filmed in the all world." During the 4 months, between May and September 2008, many nationwide UFO sightings were reported from different parts of Turkey, while some of them were filmed and photographed and aired. Within the same period of time, these objects were also witnessed by the residents of Kumburgaz/Yeni Kent Compound, caught on video several times by a night guard named Yalcin Yalman and these footages are considered as the closest and the most significant images ever filmed around the world.

In these amazing UFO video footages which would likely have major repercussions around the world and be listed as “the most significant UFO videos ever”, physical forms of UFOs and their metallic structures are clearly noticeable. What’s more important is that in the close-up of some footages of the objects, entities in them can be distinctly made out.

For the 2008 new footages : We, Sirius UFO Space Science Research Center firstly spoke with all the witnesses separately, then did the detailed analysis of the full footage of 2 hours 30 min. long videos with the participation of our members of science board... We have enlarged the video images of the footages, did all the detailed analysis and checked their pixels and went through all the footage frame by frame. After doing all the necessary analysis which went on for several weeks, we came to a definite conclusion with no doubts that these are “100% genuine footages”!...

The objects sighted in the aforementioned footages that have a structure that is made of specific material are definitely not made up by any kind of computer animation nor are they any form of special effects used for simulation in a studio or for a video effect therefore in conclusion it was decided that the sightings were neither a mock-up or hoax. And it is concluded that these objects in the sightings that have physical and material structures do not belong in any category such as; planes, helicopters, meteors, Venus, Mars, satellites, fire balls, Chinese lantern, fire balls, weather balloons, natural or atmospheric phenomenon… etc., but rather fall into the category of UFOs …

The Big Bang or The Big Black Out?!

In nine days' time (next Wednesday, September 10, 2008), a particular machine never before seen on this planet, will be switched on.

In four years' time (incidentally - making that 2012 - marking the completion of a cycle in the Mayan Calendar : This is the completion point of a 5,125-year calendar count of linear time called the Long Count)...this machine could create a black hole that could swallow the entire planet (totally sucking it - and us - inside out!).

Hmmm. I think we underestimate the vast capabilites of technology and playing around with celestial vacuums and sub-atomic particles - smashing them together at the speed of light. We start doing this - and we have no idea what we could be doing to the space-time continuum; how we could be damaging the intricate fabric of the universe.

I don't know - but something about all this makes me feel slightly queasy...

It has cost £4.4billion and is designed to unlock the secrets of the Big Bang.

But rather than providing vital information about the beginning of life, the world's biggest experiment could cause the end of the world, say scientists.

They fear that the Large Hadron Collider - due to be switched on in nine days' time - will create a black hole that could swallow the planet.

By smashing sub-atomic particles together at close to the speed of light, the LHC aims to recreate the conditions that existed a fraction of a second after the birth of the universe or Big Bang, shedding light on the building blocks of life.

But critics claim that the 'time machine', which has been built 300ft beneath the French-Swiss border near Geneva, could instead spawn a shower of mini-black holes.

Within four years, one of these 'celestial vacuums' could have swollen to such a size that it is capable of sucking the Earth inside-out, said Otto Rossler, one of a group of scientists mounting a last-minute court challenge to the project.

They claim the experiment violates the right to life under the European Convention of Human Rights. However, the case at the European Court of Human Rights is not expected to delay the switch on, scheduled for Wednesday of next week.

Professor Rossler, a German chemist, said the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, or CERN, has admitted its project will create black holes but doesn't consider them to be a risk.

He warned: 'My own calculations have shown it is quite plausible that these little black holes survive and will grow exponentially and eat the planet from the inside. I have been calling for CERN to hold a safety conference to prove my conclusions wrong but they have not been willing.'

Those involved in the project have dismissed the claims as 'absurd' and insist that extensive safety assessments have found the experiment, which is funded by 20 countries, including the UK, to be safe.

A report written earlier this year stated: 'Over the past billions of years, nature has already generated on Earth as many collisions as about a million LHC experiments - and the planet still exists.'

The lifespan of any mini-black holes would be 'very short', it added.

CERN spokesman James Gillies said the arguments before the European Court of Human Rights had been answered in 'extensive safety assessments'.

He told the Sunday Telegraph: 'The Large Hadron Collider will not be producing anything that does not happen routinely in nature due to cosmic rays. If they were dangerous we would know about it already.'

Scientists have used large particle colliders to smash atoms and pieces of atoms together for 30 years, but this machine has attracted so much attention because it is the most powerful ever built.

In the LHC beams of protons will be propelled through an 18-mile-long circular tunnel. More than 5,000 magnets lining the tunnel will accelerate the hundreds of billions of tiny particles to almost the speed of light, allowing them to complete one circuit in one-11,000th of a second.

There will be two beams going in opposite directions, each packing as much energy as a car travelling at 100mph.

When they reach almost the speed of light, they will be smashed head on into each other, breaking them into their constituent parts, including, perhaps, the building blocks of the universe.

Earth's Hidden Twin...?

In the new issue of Nexus magazine (Vol. 15, No. 5 : August-September 2008), there is a very interesting article which theorises that the fabled planet of Nibiru is in fact the hidden counterpart of our own planet - sharing our same orbital path but directly opposing us, meaning that it is always on the other side of, and hence, obscured by the Sun.

It goes on to state that the Nephilim of the Sumerians and the Neferu of the ancient Egyptians are the same travellers of this other planet ~ this 'anti-earth'.

In the cosmogony of the Pythagorean Philolaus, he asserted too, that behind the Sun (which he called Hestia), there was a body similar (if not substantially larger) to that of our own planet - a kind of Counter-Earth.

From the years 1662 up until 1892, this mysterious planet was seen (in crescent form) by various astronomers such as Gian Domenico Cassini, James Short, Andreas Mayer, Joseph-Louis Lagrange, Monbarreaux, Roedkier and Edward Emerson Barnard.

Apparently there was some change in the functioning of the solar 'dynamo' that took place in the late 17th and early to mid-18th centuries (which also manifested itself in a Maunder Minimum - when there were hardly any sunspots for 50 years), which caused this orbital instability of the Counter-Earth (Nibiru), which led to it being partially seen by us.

The distance from Earth to Counter-Earth is so great that, bearing in mind the size of the Sun and the effects it produces, a fairly large planetary body can be lost in the space behind the Sun... A perfect hiding place?

The space telescope SOHO, which is constantly photographing the Sun, is close to the Earth and so cannot see Nibiru behind the Sun unless that planet shifts its position once again, as it did in the late 1600s due to powerful solar magnetic storms. All other probes sent out into space by us, don't 'look out to the sides or backwards'. In order to maintain and correct their courses constantly, the 'electronic eyes' of space vehicles are directed towards specific heavenly bodies used as landmarks (or spacemarks), such as the bright star Canopus (hence no photo of Nibiru ever showing up from a space probe).

The secret of this Counter-Earth is kept from us not only by the vastness of outer space, but by the blindness and indifference of science to what historical documents (as described by the ancient Sumerians, Egyptians & Babylonians) tell us.

Obviously if Nibiru is directly opposite us - it of course lies in the 'Goldilocks Zone' ~ that incredibly fortuitious band of space which is conducive to harbouring and sustaining Life...that same part of space WE inhabit.

Hmmm - All still pure conjecture but kinda makes perfect sense really. Fascinating stuff indeed.

Aah, the seasons...

I'm an Autumn person myself, but I have to say that I enjoy all the variations of this ONEderful planet of ours - all Her seasons, all her colours, all her 'moods'...

Being an Air sign, I am particularly drawn to windy days (I feel so refreshed, mentally cleansed & invigorated the windier it gets!). I feel dreamy on cloudless, sunny, still days; and ferociously energised on stormy or rainy days. Winter's a time for hybernation for me ~ a time for planting 'seeds'; Spring is fun & lovely & tender & 'nurturing'; Summer's full of life & enjoyment & passion & excitement ~ those seeds now in full bloom; while Autumn for me is romantic, introspective, beautifully rustic & earthy ~ a time to prepare for the next cycle/round of Life.
Lightning excites me no end, and there's nothing like lying in bed surrounded with candles, a good book, a chai latte, and with the pitter patter sound of rain carressing my bedroom window! Now that's life!

I came to this planet to experience the full kaleidoscope of all Her seasons. On some planets - it's Summer all year round (or Winter). This is a YOUnique world in that you get so many variations (thank Gaia's 23 degree axis tilt for that!). I personally wouldn't have it any other way...

If anyone ever complains to you again about the weather - just remind them of life on Pluto, or Mercury, or the rocky body of XP1044 in the Constellation of Lyra...and remind them just how lucky they are to be here on planet Earth.

ps - I have a confession to make : I LOVE tornados (not for their destructive aspect - but just for their sheer grandeur and ominous beauty). I've got a photo on my kitchen cabinet of me standing in front of a tornado - looking all smug and only slightly wary.

Ever checked youtube? Type in 'tornado' and you'll get some fascinating footage of tornadoes taken by some very enthusiastic tornado taunters. There's some really scary/exciting stuff there.

I gotta plan a trip someday - catching the Crop Circle season in England then popping over to America's midwest to chase some Twisters!

Now that would by my ultimate holiday! (Will have to catch the pyramids in Egypt & Mesoamerica on the way!)

This is where I feel that Star Trek's "Prime Directive" would be wise to consider:

The Prime Directive, Starfleet's General Order #1, is the most prominent guiding principle of the United Federation of Planets. The Prime Directive dictates that there can be no interference with the internal affairs of other civilizations. It has special implications, however, for civilizations that have not yet developed the technology for interstellar spaceflight ('pre-warp') [or flight in general such as helicopters & planes - OM], since no primitive culture can be given or exposed to any information regarding advanced technology or the existence of extraplanetary [or extra-tribal] civilizations, lest this exposure alter the natural development of the civilization. In addition to exposure, purposeful efforts to improve or change in any way the natural course of such a society, even if that change is well-intentioned and kept completely secret, are strictly PROHIBITED.

That said, I think it's an amazing discovery. The photos from our perspective were truly fascinating...but from their viewpoint I'm sure, the experience was totally frightening & psychologically profound (if not hugely paradigm-shattering). The village Shaman (the one in black?) would have had a lot of questions to answer that night from the village folk (including the warrior/protectors...the ones in red?).

Definately much ethical food for thought.

A free program launched today will effectively turn every computer that downloads it into a mini-planetarium capable of displaying high resolution images of millions of stars, planets and other celestial bodies.

The project, called the WorldWide Telescope (WWT), is the result of several years of hard labour by a small team at Microsoft Research, the software company's key R&D centre.

It has drawn lavish praise from some of the world's leading space scientists and educators, including Dr Roy Gould of the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics.

"Galileo's telescope started to give us views of the universe that no one else had seen before and we started asking what was out there and why. And I think the WorldWide Telescope is going to do the same thing for the rest of us," he said in a telephone interview.
"In terms of pushing the envelope, this really pushes the envelope."

The program works in the same way as many online mapping tools, allowing users to zoom around on an interactive canvas combining images and data drawn from the world's leading astronomical research organisations.

At launch, the WWT has access to 12 terabytes of data - enough to fill the equivalent of 1.2 million books. But like the universe, this will expand as new images are added.

Dr Gould believes the WWT will give amateur astronomers and even complete novices an opportunity to assist the scientific community in furthering their research.

"This is going to change our relationship with the night sky in a significant way," he said.

WWT is being offered without strings attached from today as an educational tool and was created to honour the memory of the late Dr Jim Gray, a leading Microsoft computer scientist who was lost at sea in 2007.

Dr Gray believed that the vast amount of space data being collected would change astronomy from being an observational science into a computational one, said Dr Curtis Wong, a leading Microsoft research scientist and the head of the WWT project.

With the growth of the internet and the increasing processing power of standard computers, Gray could see the internet becoming the platform for a worldwide virtual observatory which anyone could use.

A key feature of the program is the ability of users - any user, not just the experts - to create rich media tours to showcase features found on the WWT database.

For instance, one of the tours takes you across the Martian landscape using images captured in the Mars Rover program.

"For millennia ... every different culture has their own story about the heavens," said Dr Wong in a telephone interview. "The WorldWide Telescope is an opportunity for people to create and share those stories."

The WWT comes as a 20MB download and is available from the WorldWide Telescope site. The program only works on the Windows operating system.

Very soon, we shall experience cosmic contact and find that we are not alone in the universe. The trillions of star systems in our galaxy are actually mothering wombs for new life on countless planets. Maybe we have just been too young to have encountered others. However, all that's set to change...

When a baby is just born, its nervous system is not yet mature or aware enough to see 'other life', but out of sheer hunger and the need to connect, its whole body system links up, the infant opens its eyes, sees its mother, and smiles. The infant is only recognising what it has never seen before - yet it has always been there. We are on the threshold of our first 'planetary smile' - a global awakening.

The Internet, instant global communications (via mobile phone, the mass media, interconnected satellite technology, etc.) is merely the physical representation of our 'whole body system linking up' - a material metaphor for our burgeoning instantaneous interconnection - an external symbol of our internal ONEness.

On the Solstice of December 21st, 2012, our Earth, along with our life-giving Sun, will be in direct alignment with The Galactic Center. We will be lined up with, and in total resonance with, the Mother Bulge, the Great Dark Rift of the Milky Way Galaxy, the Central Black Hole, the Grand Womb of infinite potential. Within this gigantic cauldron of dark mystery...intense light, life and consciousness is born.

And it is this we are aligning with. As we each gradually 'link-up' with one another (transforming each 'my space' into Our Space...), working together as one system, we are learning to open our collective eye (our one 'I', if you will), and we will finally see...our Mother.

Our planet will awaken to the realised fact that it is no longer alone, separate and removed from its surroundings. We will connect within - coming into contact with refined realms, multi-dimensions and a vast array of higher frequencies. We will meet our inner Masters, the shape-shifting spirit Shaman and our Wise One...within our Divine Self. We will look up and out and know that we will have moved on from a warring, tribal mentality to that of a YOUnified, galactic consciousness. As Above, So Below ~ As Within, So Without.

It is at this point in Our-Story (rather than her's or history), that we will all join together, take in a deep, peaceful, collective breath...

To add, I feel it'll all be down to Morphic Resonance (think of the Hundredth Monkey Syndrome again...)

I heard just recently that it takes only 1% of the population to adopt a new way of perceiving reality or gaining a new level of consciousness - that it only takes this percentage of the species to transform for it to be strong enough & powerful enough to take hold within the collective unconscious (the global resonance field) - then, a critical mass is achieved, and the rest of the human race can easily 'download' into this new vibration.

Saw a documentary recently on TV whereby hunter/gatherers 25 000 years ago (in Austria) created the Venus of Willendorf - an exaggerated form of the female body with huge breasts and a protruding belly. The strange thing was that around the same time, all around the world, other tribes & people were creating almost the exact same figure! Of course, they didn't have the level of global communications that we have today - so they couldn't exactly hook up with each other and compare notes. It's as if they all accessed the global consciousness (Earth's Akashic Records?) of the time, thus resulting in their respective forms of art being quite similar.

Anyways - what I'm saying is that we are all heading for a kind of omega 'tipping point' so to speak. It only takes a certain number of monkeys to begin washing their sweet potatoes in a certain way in the sea for ALL monkeys to adopt this 'new way'...

Once a critical mass of humans 'awaken' - the domino effect can be swift if not instantaneous. So, will the 'lucids' be helping the sleeping? Yes - but I think more in an 'internal' way rather than externally. But then, those who've already made the evolutionary jump into the next dimension of being will be needed as guides for those riding the wave - for the total obliteration of everything you once considered 'real' is in some, if not many cases, quite harrowing. When physical reality is no longer 'solid' in a sense...it's always comforting to have a 'Morpheus' on hand to hold your hand...

In other news: Why organised religion feels the need to add 7 more sins, to me, is quite a deliberate attempt in my mind to unbalance the dualistic idea of 'good' and 'evil'. Their compulsion to add to the 'dark side' to me, is to keep its patrons in a perpetual state of fear consciousness (and hence, under their control - As a side note, do we still have to be told what to do? Enlightened people don't need 'commandments' or sin lists because they wouldn't ever commit them anyway - for they'd know better! But then, certain churches don't want to omit the middle man and have you be in direct union with yOUR God/Divine Self anyway - otherwise their power would be nil, kaput, gone...) I have no judgements on them for doing this (this is just an observation) but if Balance is to be maintained - then why couldn't they have also added 7 more Virtues to the seven current ones? If we're going to give more power to the dark - let's also give more power to the light (if we want to continue playing this game of polarised Duality that is...!)

I'm certain that even this 'fact' upheld by the general consensus, will one day be disproved & transcended. We'll one day come to the realisation that Earth is not round as such, nor flat - but rather, hyper-shaped...with infinite sides & numerous angles (read: perspectives). Time-lines will converge upon each other. The realm in which we live will be understood to be multidimensional, containing unlimited shapes at all times...a celestial anomaly in a constant state of everchanging flux. The illusion of separation will be 'old hat', and ONEness realised completely. We'll someday laugh at the notion that we once thought the world to be 'round' - just as round-earth proponents now laugh at the idea that people once believed the Earth to be flat! We'll someday guffaw at the outmoded view that we once thought we were all separated from one another within a solid reality of form & matter...individual components moving about within 'space' & linear 'time'... We'll someday see that this particular continuum was one of the greatest jokes ever told.

How humanity perceives its home realm is a direct reflection & statement on how it sees its self; its current state of evolution; and its own level of awareness.

"Apollo 11 : The Untold Story"

I caught this fantastic show on TV last week all about the Apollo 11 Moon Mission.

It was all about the 1969 Apollo 11 mission and went through in great detail, all the problems and misshaps that occurred during this tense & landmark event. Featured:

- How Buzz Aldrin had to use a ballpoint pen to relock the hatch on the Lunar Module (The Eagle) because he & Armstrong broke some handle with their bulky spacesuits when they re-entered the tiny capsule.

- How all three astronauts on the mission experienced bright flashes of light on their way to the moon. This was apparently caused by unknown (at the time), fast-moving space particles that were actually penetrating their ship (& bodies) from the outside (Earth's atmosphere protects us from these light particles)

- How all three men onboard witnessed an unidentified flying object hovering beside them. They had no idea how to relay this information back to mission control as they were well aware their every word was being heard by the whole world, and would be heavily scrutinised and pondered over. Later missions actually caught these images on camera and these were showed during the show.

- How the Lunar Module had only a 15 second window to land on the moon's surface before it ran out of fuel. They had to land ASAP or else abort the mission or crash land in a crater or something.

- How Neil Armstrong contemplated what exact words he would use for his famous first step on the moon. Many suggestions had been put forth to him prior to the mission (Shakespeare, Bible quotes, etc), but he ended up composing one on his own - the now legendary "One small step for Man, One giant leap for Mankind."

- How NASA lied to the crew about an ejection device aboard the space shuttle in the event something went wrong during take-off. As it turned out, there was no ejection device at all. If the rocket had exploded during take-off, all three astronauts would have been killed instantly.

It was such an interesting, informative & fascinating show. I thoroughly recommend tracking it down if you can. I only caught it by chance, but sat rivetted throughout (being the space-buff that I am...) They included interviews with Buzz Aldrin himself, people who were at Ground Control that day, technicians, ground crew, etc. And even though there was a lot of technical jargon (they did talk a lot about computer/system details, fuel, logistics capabilities, etc), I found it all quite easy to understand.

A worldwide cataclysm is to strike the Earth in the near future (circa 2012). The cause will be a planet, known to the ancients but as of yet officially undiscovered by modern man, which passes near the earth as part of its normal 3600 year orbit.

A Huge Pain In The Asteroid...?!?

A huge asteroid will zoom past Earth next week at such a close distance that it should be observable in dark and clear skies with amateur telescopes of three inches (7.5cm) or larger, NASA claims.

Measuring between 150m and 600m across, 2007 TU24 would inflict devastating regional damage were it to hit Earth, but there is very little risk of any collision, specialists said yesterday.

When it flies by on Tuesday (January 29th) at 7.34pm AEDT, it will be about 534,000km from Earth at its closest point, according to a Near Earth Object database compiled by the University of Pisa in Italy.

The asteroid will make the closest approach of any known potentially hazardous asteroid of this size or larger until 2027, NASA said.

The rock was discovered only last October by the University of Arizona.

The Flower Sermon

The Buddha was teaching to the multitudes and was being continually "abused" by one man. The more the Buddha ignored him the louder this "abuse" got.
Finally the Buddha said to this man "If someone gave you a gift you did not like, what would you do with it?", the man replied "Why, I would give it back."
The Buddha then said "Well I give your gift of abuse back to you."

I see a few things here. Firstly - What you resist persists. But I don't necessarily believe that Buddha was personally resisting the 'heckler'. I think he understood the 'drama' of the show and only allowed it to happen for the sake of teaching the assembled congregation something.

I also think Buddha was describing what was actually occurring between him and the man - kinda painting a portrait of a two-way street. The man was not liking the gift that Buddha was giving him so he was 'giving it back'. Buddha just wanted him to see and express what he was in effect doing. But there's more. Buddha also recognised that he WAS the other man too, so he was merely repeating what his reflection was saying. Then like a mirror facing another mirror...he 'gave it back' to the man what he himself was receiving. Did someone just say 'paradox'? I don't think he did this with any ill intent - he was just showing the power of reflection.

This is actually quite a profound teaching, and I believe there's definately a lot of layers to it. Peel away one layer, and there's another deeper, more profound teaching...peel away again, and there's an even deeper meaning, etc., ad infinitum. Kinda like two mirrors indeed facing each other - you can see into infinity...

Did Buddha recognise the abuse as a gift because it was something he needed to work on? Once again, I think he understood the importance of 'acting out the play'. Like a true Boddhisatva, he understands the importance of acting out lessons for the benefit of the crowd - kinda leading by example...by sometimes 'playing the fool' - so that the people can relate to him. From this they can see how one (like them) can actually rise up out of judgement, unconsciousness & Maya. If he truly did seem infallible to them, he may also be perceived as 'out of reach' or too divine in their eyes to emulate. His gift to the crowd was as to appear as one of them - so they can see more clearly, themselves in him.

He no doubt saw the intricate 'setting up' of the scene - that his 'abuser' did so to merely play a part. He knew full well the outcome. Because he wrote it...!

It's been said Jesus did the same thing with Judas. They both played their parts perfectly because they had a vitally important lesson to impart. Judas may not have been aware of the 'bigger picture' (the set-up) and his role in it...but I believe Jesus always walked with a knowing wink. And for his part in the passion play...Jesus loved & adored Judas even more.

Like Jesus, I believe Buddha may have sat meditating in his Lotus position a lot of the time - but I AM certain he also gave a knowing wink every now & then to those truly 'with eyes to see'...

To close, here's my favourite Buddha teaching. Simple, beautiful yet deeply profound - I reckon Buddha was giggling inside when he gave this one...

"The Flower Sermon"

Buddha stood beside a lake on Mount Grdhakuta and prepared to give a sermon to his disciples who were excitedly gathering there to hear him speak. They were all assembling there to hear him talk of the secrets of the Universe, of Life, and of how to reach Enlightenment.

As the Holy One waited for his students to settle down, he noticed a golden lotus flower blooming in the muddy water nearby. He pulled the plant out of the water. Then he held it up high for all his students to see. For a long time he stood there, saying nothing, just holding up the lotus and looking into the blank & confused faces of his audience.

Suddenly his disciple, Mahakashyapa, smiled. He understood! Perfectly...

Synchronicity is when the 'outer' mirrors the 'inner' - heralding a transformation in consciousness ("As Within, So Without" ~ The Emerald Tablet of Thoth).

I sent out an email yesterday to some friends in which I called them 'Masters of the Universe'. Today, one of them sent me an email regarding a website that was recommended to us via a woman at a Twin Hearts meditation we both went to on Monday night. Within the email this friend sent to me today, there is an explicit mention of 'Masters Of The Universe'! THEY have always orchestrated our lives...now it seems they've really stepped it up!

*GALACTIC CONSCIOUSNESS SINCE 1998

Physicists, astronomers, and astrophysicists have been successfully mapping the universe since the 1950s. Much of the public knows that our Sun revolves around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy in a 225-million-year orbit, and that it is approximately thirty light-years out from the center. Oh my...what a peculiar article.

It seems to me that so much of the Bible referencing mentioned is to throw off those who are simply seeking to attain a personal sense of Gnosis (ie: Cosmic Knowledge/Self Individuation/Self Realization...etc.)

Hermetic Tradition (namely The Emerald Tablet of Thoth/Hermes) contains the axiom 'As Within So Without...As Above So Below'. If the body itself has 'energy lines' (or meridians) which Chinese medicine recognises and utilises in the practices of acupucture and reiki etc., then the body, itself a microcosm of Gaia (or Mother Earth) would logically, by this article's thinking, also be 'evil' and 'satanic'...a twisted & contradictory idea as, also according to them...we are made in the image of 'God'...?

'Occult' merely means 'hidden'. Suppressing information from humanity (which those who compiled the Bible have done) on how to gain Self Realisation, to me, is the ultimate arcane act of occultism!

To control the masses throughout the ages, the Bible (and its proponents) has put itself up as the sole medium by which to know Divinity - urging people to turn outwards rather than inwards. Its very existence depends on it. So really, this article doesn't surprise me. It just fascinates me that it's still going on!

But...Bless their Hearts though. True 'Christ Consciousness' is being able to love unconditionally, to understand, empathise and to remain compassionate in the face of confusion and paradox. Some may call this True Forgiveness. I simply call it - being a Divine Human.

I read something like this article...and can only feel compassion for them. It doesn't lessen my ability to BE unconditional love one bit. There's enough hatred and fear in the world for me to add to it. My life's purpose is better than that.

Far Out - It's Our Sister Earth!

It's got the same climate as Earth, plus water and gravity. A newly discovered planet is the most stunning evidence that life - just like us - might be out there.

Above a calm, dark ocean, a huge, bloated red sun rises in the sky - a full ten times the size of our Sun as seen from Earth. Small waves lap at a sandy shore and on the beach, something stirs...

This is the scene - or may be the scene - on what is possibly the most extraordinary world to have been discovered by astronomers: the first truly Earth-like planet to have been found outside our Solar System.

The discovery was announced last month by a team of European astronomers, using a telescope in La Silla in the Chilean Andes. It forced bookies to slash odds on the existence of alien beings.

The Earth-like planet that could be covered in oceans and may support life is 20.5 light years away (near one of the three pointer stars of The Southern Cross), and has the right temperature to allow liquid water on its surface.

This remarkable discovery appears to confirm the suspicions of most astronomers that the universe is swarming with Earth-like worlds.

We don't yet know much about this planet, but scientists believe that it may be the best candidate so far for supporting extraterrestrial life.

The new planet, which orbits a small, red star called Gliese 581, is about one-and-a-half times the diameter of the Earth.

It probably has a substantial atmosphere and may be covered with large amounts of water - necessary for life to evolve - and, most importantly, temperatures are very similar to those on our world.

It is the first exoplanet (a planet orbiting a star other than our own Sun) that is anything like our Earth.

Of the 220 or so exoplanets found to date, most have either been too big, made of gas rather than solid material, far too hot, or far too cold for life to survive.

"On the treasure map of the Universe, one would be tempted to mark this planet with an X," says Xavier Delfosse, one of the scientists who discovered the planet.

"Because of its temperature and relative proximity, this planet will most probably be a very important target of the future space missions dedicated to the search for extraterrestrial life."

Gliese 581 is among the closest stars to us, just 20.5 light years away (about 120 trillion miles) in the constellation Libra. It is so dim it can be seen only with a good telescope.

Because all planets are relatively so small and the light they give off so faint compared to their sun, finding exoplanets is extremely difficult unless they are huge.

Those that have so far been detected have mostly been massive, Jupiter-like balls of gas that almost certainly cannot be home to life.

This new planet - known for the time being as Gliese 581c - is a midget in comparison, being about 12,000 miles across (Earth is a little under 8,000 pole-to-pole).

It has a mass five times that of Earth, probably made of the same sort of rock as makes up our world and with enough gravity to hold a substantial atmosphere.

Astrobiologists - scientists who study the possibility of alien life - refer to a climate known as the Goldilocks Zone, where it is not so cold that water freezes and not so hot that it boils, but where it can lie on the planet's surface as a liquid.

In our solar system, only one planet - Earth -lies in the Goldilocks Zone. Venus is far too hot and Mars is just too cold. This new planet lies bang in the middle of the zone, with average surface temperatures estimated to be between zero and 40c (32-102f). Lakes, rivers and even oceans are possible.

It is not clear what this planet is made of. If it is rock, like the Earth, then its surface may be land, or a combination of land and ocean.

Another possibility is that Gliese 581c was formed mostly from ice far from the star (ice is a very common substance in the Universe), and moved to the close orbit it inhabits today.
In which case its entire surface will have melted to form a giant, planet-wide ocean with no land, save perhaps a few rocky islands or icebergs.

The surface gravity is probably around twice that of the Earth and the atmosphere could be similar to ours.

Although the new planet is in itself very Earth-like, its solar system is about as alien as could be imagined. The star at the centre - Gliese 581 - is small and dim, only about a third the size of our Sun and about 50 times cooler.

The two other planets are huge, Neptune-sized worlds called Gliese 581b and d (there is no "a", to avoid confusion with the star itself).

The Earth-like planet orbits its sun at a distance of only six million miles or so (our Sun is 93 million miles away), travelling so fast that its "year" only lasts 13 of our days.

The parent star would dominate the view from the surface - a huge red ball of fire that must be a spectacular sight.

It is difficult to speculate what - if any - life there is on the planet. If there is life there it would have to cope with the higher gravity and solar radiation from its sun.

Just because Gliese 581c is habitable does not mean that it is inhabited, but we do know its sun is an ancient star - in fact, it is one of the oldest stars in the galaxy, and extremely stable. If there is life, it has had many billions of years to evolve.

This makes this planet a prime target in the search for life. According to Seth Shostak, of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute in California, the Gliese system is now a prime target for a radio search. 'We had actually looked at this system before but only for a few minutes. We heard nothing, but now we must look again.'

By 2020 at least one space telescope should be in orbit, with the capability of detecting signs of life on planets orbiting nearby stars. If oxygen or methane (tell-tale biological gases) are found in Gliese 581c's atmosphere, this would be good circumstantial evidence for life.

Dr Malcolm Fridlund, a European Space Agency scientist, said the discovery of Gliese 581c was "an important step" on the road to finding life.

"If this is a rocky planet, it's very likely it will have liquid water on its surface, which means there may also be life."

The real importance is not so much the discovery of this planet itself, but the fact that it shows that Earth-like planets are probably extremely common in the Universe.

There are 200 billion stars in our galaxy alone and many astronomers believe most of these stars have planets.

The fact that almost as soon as we have built a telescope capable of detecting small, earth-like worlds, one turns up right on our cosmic doorstep, shows that statistically, there are probably billions of earths out there.

As Seth Shostak says: "We've never found one close to being like the Earth until now. We are finding that Earth is not such an unusual puppy in the litter of planets."

But are these alien Earths home to life? No one knows. We don't understand how life began on our world, let alone how it could arise anywhere else. There may be an awful lot of bugs and bacteria out there, and only a few worlds with what we would recognise as plants and animals. Or, of course, there may be nothing.

The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute uses radio telescopes to try to pick up messages sent by alien civilisations.

Interestingly, Gliese 581c is so close to the Earth that if its putative inhabitants only had our level of technology, they could - just about - pick up some of our radio signals, such as the most powerful military transmitters. Quite what would happen if we for our part did receive a signal is unclear.

"There is a protocol, buried away in the United Nations," says Dr Shostak. "The President would be told first, after the signal was confirmed by other observatories. But we couldn't keep such a discovery secret."

It may be some time before we detect any such signals, but it is just possible that today we are closer than ever to finding life in the stars.

William Hill said it had shortened the odds on proving the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence from 1,000-1 to 100-1.

Spokesman Graham Sharpe said: "We would face a possible eight-figure payout if it were to be confirmed that intelligent life of extra-terrestrial origin exists. We felt we had to react to the news that an earth-like planet which could support intelligent life had been discovered - after all, we don't know for sure that intelligent extraterrestrial life has not already been discovered."

The new planet, so far unnamed, is 20.5 light years away and orbits a red dwarf star called Gliese 581.

One McNaughty Comet

The most spectacular comet in 40 years, named after the Australian astronomer who discovered it, will streak through the southern hemisphere over the next month, even shining brighter than the planet Venus.

Comet McNaught will be seen on the horizon just after sunset and before sunrise for the next few weeks.

It will burn brightest on Monday, January 15, an ANU astronomer said.

Australian National University astronomer Robert McNaught discovered the comet on August 7 2006.

For those taking a peek tonight - It'll be brightest between sunset and about 9:30pm (a fairly tight window of opportunity - so don't miss it!) - in the western sky following dusk.

Melbourne's had a bit of haze today...so fingers crossed fellow Melbournites for clear skies!

I'm sure you won't miss it if it is a clear night...as it's tipped to be brighter than Haley's Comet and Comet Shoemaker-Levy combined! To find it, just look for the tail...

They are calling yesterday here in Melbourne 'Black Tuesday' - due to the state-wide-affecting blackout on one of the hottest days of summer (we're talking 40-plus degrees!) - due to the out-of-control bushfires. Traffic lights were down all over the city/road blocks/people trapped in lifts/fires everywhere/ice-cream stores giving away melting ice-cream/cafes & restaurants shutting/trains & trams grounded to a halt/the elderly collapsing in the street/the tennis shut down/hospitals in a state of emergency/smoke-filled skies/and all the while - so stinking hot with not a drop of rain in sight!

It was like 'Apocalypto' - but without the subtitles and Mayan temples. But on the whole, we Melbournites were quite cool-headed (despite the heat).

In the year leading up to December 21st 2012, people will be starting to experiment with sending messages back in time. Text messages from non-existent phone numbers and phantom emails from the future will start turning up en masse from mid-2006 onwards. A great number of these will actually be from your own future self.

A super storm has appeared on Saturn - a massive hurricane with a giant eye at the centre. Saturn symbolises structure and restriction. One of the greatest limitations we all face is our inability to slow down, speed up or turn back time. The appearance of this giant eye reveals some new in'sight' to do with our ability to grasp the mechanics of time travel, thus allowing us to break through the restrictions imposed upon us by the constraints of linear time.

Horror Turns To Tolerance

*I read this article in the paper yesterday and it moved me to tears. I was so profoundly affected by it that I wanted to share it here...

Until last week I was not intolerant of the Amish people, but I was indifferent.

From a few Amish-themed movies and the occasional newspaper story, I had picked up snippets about them and ignorantly accepted they were simply quaint people, who pretty much kept to their own.

What harm did it do if they chose to live spartan lives by turning their backs on modern technology believing it made people lazy and distanced them from God?

Fair enough I figured, after all, they were said to abhor violence and the men even refused to grow moustaches because to them moustaches had military connotations.

They didn't interfere with the outside world, so what right did the outside world have to interfere with how these conservative Christians chose to live their lives?

To be honest, I didn't give the Amish way of life much thought because it made no impact on mine.

That changed when a mild-mannered milkman named Charles Carl Roberts IV cold-bloodedly murdered five young girls at the West Nickel Mines Amish School in Pennsylvania in the United States last week.

The 32-year-old father of three tied up and shot 10 young girls at the one-room school. Two children died at the scene, another three in hospital.

We have read that Roberts left a suicide note telling his wife, Marie, he was angry at God for the death of their daughter, Elise Victoria, who was born prematurely and lived only 20 minutes.

It was claimed the letter revealed his daughter's death, almost a decade ago, changed his life and filled him with hate towards himself and God.

We may never know what really made him a murderer of children or why he so callously shot these little girls, one by one, before turning the gun on himself. But what we do know from this and from other atrocities is that while lives can be snuffed out, it is not so easy to snuff out basic humanity, the essence of the human spirit.

And so it was in the aftermath of this terrible human tragedy. Something good emerged from something so incomprehensively evil.

This week, the Amish from the devastated community taught the world a lesson about tolerance and forgiveness.

AND it was no token effort. They genuinely turned the other cheek and literally embraced the family of the man who had so ruthlessly set out to destroy their own.

So many details have emerged about the remarkable capacity of this community for sacrifice and forgiveness, beginning during the shooting itself.

One of Roberts' victims, a 13-year-old Amish girl named Marian Fisher, asked him to shoot her first in a bid to buy time for the younger students.

Hard to believe that even the shooter could not have been touched by such selflessness, but he put a bullet in her head and quickly moved on.

When Marian Fisher's 11-year-old sister said, "shoot me next" in the vain hope that she, too, might save others, Roberts simply took aim and shot her as well.

Such details would make even the most charitable of us angry, but not the Amish, it seems. They did not seek vengeance or slink away to suffer in silence.

Instead they invited Roberts' widow, Marie, to a funeral of one of the young girls murdered by her husband.

What an incredible act of healing. It was almost unfathomable to me that in the midst of trying to deal with such unconscionable grief, this community could find it in their hearts to consider the feelings of the killer's wife.

And when the man who murdered their children was buried beside his baby daughter at the weekend, half of the mourners at his funeral were said to be from the Amish community he shattered.

This was less than 48 hours after they had attended the funerals of Marian Fisher, 13, Anna Mae Stoltzfus, 12, Naomi Rose Ebersol, 7, sisters Mary Liz Miller, 8, and Lena Miller, 7.

Now, we learn the Amish community is to establish two funds, one for the five young girls wounded in the bloody rampage and the other for the killer's family.

IGNORANCE can breed contempt, if we let it.

What the Amish people taught us this week is a much-needed lesson in tolerance, forgiveness and love.

And I guess it also says something about religious tolerance as well, especially as we live in a world split apart by this very issue.

It's a simple message, really. Instead of looking for fault in others or their religions, wouldn't it be marvellous if we embraced the good?

Last Drinks On Pluto...

Leading astronomers declared Thursday (August 24, 2006) that Pluto is no longer a planet under historic new guidelines that downsize the solar system from nine planets to eight.

After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, the International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930. The new definition of what is -- and isn't -- a planet fills a centuries-old black hole for scientists who have labored since Copernicus without one.

The decision at a conference of 2,500 astronomers from 75 countries was a dramatic shift from just a week ago, when the group's leaders floated a proposal that would have reaffirmed Pluto's planetary status and made planets of its largest moon and two other objects.

Those two objects that at one point were cruising toward possible full-fledged planethood will join Pluto as dwarfs: the asteroid Ceres, which was a planet in the 1800s before it got demoted, and 2003 UB313, an icy object slightly larger than Pluto whose discoverer, Michael Brown of the California Institute of Technology, has nicknamed "Xena."

Charon, the largest of Pluto's three moons, is no longer under consideration for any special designation.

"My Very Excellent Memory Jogger Sadly Useless Now" - The new rhyme already going around now that Pluto has been sacked of its planetary status.

This turn of events really interests me on a symbolic level. Discovered in 1930 (when the atom bomb was being developed), the fact that Pluto became a planet (& a major symbolic force) way back then only to be demoted to one of four new dwarf planets in 2006 obviously must mean something symbolically and profoundly on a collective level (as well as touching us all individually...)

Called "the great renewer", Pluto is considered to represent the part of a person that destroys in order to renew. A commonly used keyword for Pluto is "transformation".

Pluto is also associated with extreme power and corruption; the discovery of Pluto in 1930 coincided with the rise of fascism in Europe and the major proliferation of organized crime in the United States. It is also associated with nuclear armament, which had its genesis in the research of that decade.

This is/was the furthest planet in our solar system and is named after the Roman god Pluto, guardian of the underworld and the god of the kingdom of death. Hades was the corresponding Greek god, and the underworld was later called Hades after its ruler. He ruled a place of fear and darkness, the shadowlands.

Symbolically, Pluto came to epitomise total destruction and annihilation.

Pluto's symbolism is about change and total transformation through the painful process of finding truth and meaning. It also corresponded with the rise of depth psychology. Pluto represents death and rebirth, atomic energy, ruthlessness, dictatorships, large organizations and competition.

Astrologers in the West claim Pluto to be the ruling planet of Scorpio, ; that sign formerly was thought to be ruled by Mars. The US astrologer Alan Oken suggests that Pluto is merely a higher octave of Mars. Mars breaks down form, he claims, but Pluto transforms its very atomic structure. The planet Mars is the aggressive and emotional energy behind wars, he says, but the planet Pluto represents the ultimate destruction of the atom bomb. Mars signifies the passion in sexuality, but Pluto represents the orgasm. Mars is the anger that makes the soldier pull the trigger, but Pluto is the force that separates the soul of the man who is shot from his body, Oken says.

The astrological significance of a planet is affected by the situation of the society that discovers it at the time of its discovery. When Pluto was discovered in 1930, the criminals had the upper hand in the United States thanks to the stupid prohibition of alcoholic beverages. Fascist regimes were appearing in Italy, Germany, and the Soviet Union. That time in the present cycle of human civilization was also the time of the Great Depression, and the beginning of the nuclear age.

Finally it should be mentioned that most astrologers agree that Pluto is associated with the workings of the deepest, subconscious psychological processes in humans.

Saturn's Titan-ic Lakes

First Space Lakes Found on Saturn Moon.

A flyby of Saturn's largest moon, Titan, has finally revealed what scientists were searching for: lakes. Lots and lots of lakes.

This makes Titan the only body in our solar system, other than Earth, with lakes on its surface.

The discovery was made on July 22, when NASA's Cassini spacecraft, now orbiting Saturn, did its 16th close flyby of Titan.

Ra had taught Thoth many good and true principles, but as Thoth tried to explain these, he found that people either didn't understand what he was saying, or they had ideas that he had never heard before.

He became discouraged that he could not teach very well.

As he walked, he prayed "This World is filled with people who will not listen. The world is filled with people who think they have the Truth but it is different from mine. I do not like to tell people they are wrong, but I must do what my Father Ra tells me. I wish I knew what to do."
Ra whispered "Son, look at the side of the road."

And Thoth looked up and saw a wheel in the ditch. It was an old wooden wheel that came from a wagon. He picked it up and wondered why Ra would tell him to look at this old wheel.

Ra whispered again "Look closely at the axle of the wheel."

And Thoth looked at the center of the wheel very closely. He stared at it for a long time. Then, in a flash, he realized that the axle represented the Truth. As the axle is the center of a wheel, so is Truth the center of the World. Thoth put down the wheel.

Ra whispered again "Look at the rim of the wheel."

Thoth sat down next to the wheel and looked at the outside rim of it. He looked at it for hours until it was evening. Then he saw all the people of the World standing on the rim. Almost all of them were facing the axle, each looking at the Truth from a different angle.

Thoth was amazed by this. He never realized so many people were trying to figure out the Truth. He understood now that everybody is looking at the Truth at a different angle, seeing something different, but it is the same One Truth.

He said to himself "There is a great wisdom in how the World has been set up. No matter where I stand on the Rim, I will never see the other side of the Axle. There is another person on the other side who can see what I cannot. God is very wise to set things up as S/He has."

Ra then appeared and sat next to Thoth and explained "You, Horus and many other Teachers are the spokes that connect the axle of Truth to the rim of the World. If it was not set up in this way, the Wheel would not roll. As the Wheel turns, the purposes of God are carried out."

Thoth then gently lay the old wheel back in the ditch and continued on his way.

Crop Circle Season 2006

It's been a very slow start to the Crop Circle Season this year (for the Northern Hemisphere). Formations usually begin appearing mid-May and mainly in and around Southern England - near Stonehenge (the world's 'hot-spot' for Crop Formations).

So far though, all we've got from England is one or two dismal formations and one obvious hoax (to promote a newspaper no less - The Wiltshire Gazette).

Australia (QLD) actually had the first Crop Formation for the year. Simple circles appeared in late March around the Maleny/Conondale area (100 kms north of Brisbane)

It's Italy currently leading the way with two substantial formations appearing in the last ten days - the most recent one representing the geometrical symbol of a "Vesica Pisces“ – two overlapping rings with the intersection flattened.

Multiple YOUniverses: The evidence is good.

What if you had an identical twin? What if you had 10 identical twins? A million twins? What if all of these "others" were more than just twins in the sibling sense? What if these others were literally “you,” yet living independently in their own world or universe? Astonishing as it may seem, this may actually be the case. There may be millions, billions, and in fact, an infinite number of "alternate" universes stacked like so much Tupperware within our own universe. In each of these other universes lives another you leading a full and very real life, just like your own life. Some of these other universes are very close to our own, and are almost identical, except for minor differences. Others are further removed and the differences increase as the distance from our own increases. The concept is not a new one. In fact, the idea that other invisible worlds exist in proximity to our own are nearly as old as human beings. “Other worlds” is one of the oldest and most frequently used ideas in speculative literature and legend.

Examples might be “Fairyland” and the “astral plane.” While spiritualists, shamans and mystics have been happily dealing with the subject of alternate universes for centuries, modern science, notably the field of physics, has embraced the idea of alternate worlds in recent years. In the field of quantum mechanics, alternate universe theory is generally referred to as the “Many Worlds Interpretation,” and it holds up mathematically. The theory was first proposed 40 years ago in 1957 by the brilliant physicist Hugh Everett III. He came up with the Many Worlds scenario to deal with some of the more perplexing aspects of quantum mechanics. Everett suggested that whenever numerous viable possibilities exist, the world splits into many worlds or universes, one universe for each different possibility. For example, if you get up this morning and can’t decide if you want to have coffee or tea for breakfast, the Many Worlds Interpretation says that for each choice that is made, an entire universe is created to accommodate each choice. In one universe you choose coffee. In another universe you choose tea. In a third universe, you decide to have neither. In still another, you go with orange juice.

Each universe is as real and valid as the other. It’s just that each goes its separate way from the point of decision. According to the astounding Many Worlds Interpretation, every single choice that is made by every single human being at every instant of time creates an entire universe which goes on forever into infinity. Obviously, this means that millions and billions and trillions of universes are being created on an ongoing basis! In each universe created, everything is identical, except for that one different choice; from that point on, they develop independently, and no communication is possible between them, so the people living in those worlds have no idea that this is going on. According to the Many Worlds Interpretation, there are not only an infinite number of universes, but an infinite number of versions of each person—including you!Your alternate selves have all split off at some time in the past from the path you are now following. There may be versions of you that split off one or five years ago, or perhaps five minutes after you were born.

In some universes, you may have died at birth. But in a very real sense, those people are still "you." What if you could travel to one of these alternate universes and meet yourself and have a conversation with yourself? What would you say? What would it feel like? It’s intriguing to think about. Polls have been taken among theorists who study such things, and have revealed that most of them believe that the Many Worlds Interpretation represents an accurate description of reality. (Interestingly, the polls also show that many of them would rather not discuss the subject!) Political researcher L. David Raub conducted a poll of 72 of the "leading cosmologists and other quantum field theorists" about the Many Worlds Interpretation and found the following:

1) 58% think it is true.
2) 18% do not think it is true.
3) 13% think it could be true but are not convinced.
4) 11% had no opinion.

Among the the “Yes” thinkers is the famous Stephen Hawking, author of the best selling 'A Brief History of Time'. Also in agreement are Nobel Laureates Murray Gell-Mann and the great and brilliant Richard Feynman. One of the most interesting fall-outs of the Many World's Interpretation is the possibility that it provides a platform for the the existence of free will, one of the issues that has tormented theologians and philosophers for centuries. In a universe in which you get to have all your choices and eat them too, so to speak, the totality of an infinite potential of free will becomes obvious. From religion and folklore to the rigorous disciplines of science and mathematics, the case for a universe that is actually many universes is better than good, and, in fact, may prove to be reality.

The altering of linguistics/A new program.

I read an article in something recently (which I deeply resonated with) about I AM, and how we create our realities by what we put after these two powerful words.

Whether or not stated aloud or as a constant inner dialogue, we state our intent to the YOUniverse by whatever it is we proclaim after I AM.

I AM is our pristine, infinite, eternal state...but it's our words & thoughts after it which go to determine what we in effect, believe & thus experience.

'I AM sick & tired of this job'; 'I AM an alcoholic'; 'I AM yours'; 'I AM always unlucky in love'; 'I AM ugly'; etc...

How many times have we heard these kind of pronouncements? From others and ourselves? To steer ourselves away from the permanence of these statements, and from over-identifying with them, it would behoove us to use the words 'I have' instead. This removes us from the identification whilst still retaining our centeredness and Ultimate Observer-ness.

'I have a drug problem' leaves room for objectivity (& therefore the ability to break a recurring cycle) rather than using the quite final 'I AM a drug addict'. I personally don't condone using 'I have' for self-defeating purposes either, but for those still clinging onto variations of victim consciousness, I feel that it's at least more helpful than the alternative.

I AM very aware of everything I put after I AM - knowing full well the power & magnitude of my words, and their creative capabilities.

In many ways I just like to stick with I AM. Whenever anyone ever asks me how I am, I always reply with 'I AM'. It may jolt the greeter for a second (because it flies in the face of societal programming) but ultimately, at least I AM being true to my infinite, eternal Self.

And for that, I AM...

The ONE Being many.

The Blasted Future

British 'experts' are drawing up plans to blast an asteroid in an operation that could one day help to save the world.

On the test mission, planned for 2011 (suspiciously very close to that enigmatic date of 2012!), two spacecraft will fly to an asteroid. One will slam into it at 36,200km/h, while the other will take happy snaps of the event...

Hmmm.

Apparently this 'rehearsal' mission is in preparation for an asteroid that will cross earth's orbit in 2027.

What is it with smashing things into celestial bodies?!?

Now, NASA also plans to crash a space probe into the moon!

The 2009 moon crash, part of a larger mission that includes a lunar orbiter, is a quest for ice.
It will be a crash so violent it will be visible on Earth through a telescope, the space agency says.
NASA scientists say the collision should excavate a large hole and hurl a plume of debris into space.

After the crash of the space probe, the mother-ship that released it will fly through the plume and look for traces of water ice or vapour - similar to NASA's Deep Impact mission last July, which blasted into a comet.

The entire mission and impact project will cost more than $110 million.

Double Hmmm.

With several theories circulating that the moon might be hollow, it will be interesting to see what the repercussions of this will be...(and like Earth won't be affected by several tonnes of flung off moon debris!)

World's First 2006 Crop Circle

And it's in Australia! In Maleny to be exact - which is about 100 kms north of Brisbane, QLD (my old stomping ground - ha ha, geddit?).

Two simple grass circles have appeared (on the 3rd of April) in the same area as a formation in 2004, and almost on the same date.

'Crop season' is about to commence in Southern England (the world's 'hot spot') but it's pretty awesome that Australia got the world's first 2006 Crop Formation!

A man dies and meets up with his Angels. He asks them, "Hey guys, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."

The Angels lead the man to two doors. He opens one of the doors and looks in.

In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Angels then said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the man's mouth water.

The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The man said, "I don't understand."

"It is simple" said the Angels, "it requires but one skill. You see, instead of only thinking of themselves...they have learned to feed each other."

Gateways

My experience with drugs (ie - the entire 1990's!) is that they do open up a gateway into alternate realities and other realms...but this 'artificial' means is nothing compared to doing it internally through, say, meditation or lucid dreaming...

The former is depending on something 'outside' of one's self (to induce multidimensionality) whilst the latter is using one's own natural abilities to open up one's chakras (in particular - the Third Eye & Crown chakras).

Drugs are a physical means of gaining entry into the 'spirit-u-all realm' whilst something like meditation (being cleaner & purer) is a 'spiritual' tool used by a physical/spiritual being in order to access the spiritual...

It also depends on the environment (situation), and as with everything in Life - one's motives. Shamans throughout the centuries have used various types of plants (in particular - the South American plant/drug/medicine : Ayahuasca) to induce higher states of consciousness or awareness. With the assistance of a Shaman (or one's own inner Shaman), these means are a viable & wholly valid way of blowing open the doors of perception and seeing into a world beyond the tangible. In a controlled & loving environment, and if in alignment with one's own pure intentions, I personally see nothing 'wrong' with this form of perception-expansion. Having said that however, any 'outside' assistance is still only a mere taste of what's eternally available if summoned from the will within.

I'm not saying one way's right and the other wrong - nor am I passing judgement...as I know that any judgement would be a judgement on myself - (and I totally understand why my past self did what he did - and through loving 'him' without condition, I in turn HEAL that aspect of my Self...).

All I want to say (in every instance) to my Self is this : With every thing you do in Life...ask yourself one thing - WHY are you doing it?

What's your motive? Your intention? Your reasoning?

Is it to escape? to focus? to become a more ONEderful you? or is it because you're hurting?

Is it healing or self-destructive? fun or harmful? giving you clarity or dimming your light?

These are the things I ask myself with every choice I make.

What if, quite like a Mobius Strip of recurring dreams...Right Now, we are living out the myth-tery of Atlantis.

And like a recurring dream...if we didn't 'get it' & learn from it the first time around - we are condemned to repeat it until we do.

So all the 'myths' (or re-opened memories?) about this legendary state of being; all of its potential; its dangers; its wonders...we are currently living out Right Now.

2006 Predictions

Don't really have any 'predictions' as such, but in regards to Crop Circles - every year there are roughly 80 - 100 formations in Southern England alone (the 'hotspot') with another, on average, up to 100 formations appearing internationally.

As all my friends are well aware of - Every Crop Circle 'season' (the English summer months of April through to late August), I'm always online keeping everyone up-to-date with all of the current formations.

You could say, I'm one of Australia's most ardent 'Croppies'... In terms of Crop Formation predictions however - I have a feeling that there will be plenty more 3D designs (some even a little like those 'magic pictures' you see in some magazines...), multidimensional 'puzzles', and many that will prove to interlock with one another thus offering some type of decoding process through the combining of various singular formations of like-energy. Also, a real 'galactic' theme will become even more apparent.

There will also be many more cases of 'interactive involvement' between humans and formations - reinforcing the notion that WE are all creators of our realities and that the YOUniverse does indeed mirror our inner states of being...

A teenage boy has been in deep meditation, supposedly without food or water in a Nepalese jungle for the past six months, with thousands flocking to see him, believing he's the Buddha reincarnated.

Ram Bahadur Banjan, 15, sits cross-legged and motionless with eyes closed, among the roots of a tree in the jungle of Bara, about 160km south of Kathmandu.

Followers have been keeping him from public view at night.
A 'Kantipur' newspaper reporter said about 10,000 people visit the site every day.
Many visitors believe Banjan is a reincarnation of Gautama Siddhartha, who was born about 500BC and later became revered as the Buddha, which means 'Enlightened One'.

Tip Of The Singing Iceberg.

Scientists monitoring earth movements in Antarctica believe they have found a singing iceberg.

Sound waves from the iceberg had a frequency of about 0.5 hertz - too low to be heard by humans.

But by playing them at higher speed the iceberg sounded like a swarm of bees or an orchestra warming up, the scientists said.

The German Alfred Wegener institute for polar and marine research has published the results of its study, done in 2002, in 'Science' magazine.

Well it seems that the old example of Chaos Theory (a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil causing a cyclone in Japan) has been strangely reversed!

A week after the devastating cyclone in the U.S., another super-storm, named after a BUTTERFLY, pummelled into south-western Japan with torrential rain and high-powered winds, causing floods & landslides, and paralysing transport. Twenty people have died, with a further twenty-five injured.

Typhoon 'Nabi' (which means 'butterfly' in Korean) caused more than 100 000 people to evacuate their homes in Kyushu. With images of Hurricane Katrina's destruction on the US Gulf Coast still prominent in the news...thousands of people sought refuge in stadiums, schools, churches, hotel lobbies etc. It's a scene, strangely enough, which seems to be echoing around the world, as the result of one disaster after another.

By the way, has anyone else noticed the alarming number of fatal plane crashes since August the 14th? Firstly, 120 die in Greece after a Boeing 737 crashes into the mountains. A few days later - the same happens in Venezuela (160 killed), then in Peru, and only two days ago, again - this time in Indonesia, in roughly the same area where the Tsunami hit last December - claiming the lives of over 150 000 people. Up to 150 people have died in this latest plane disaster.

Add to all this, the London Bombings (over 50 dead), China's recent Typhoon Talim (which killed 100 people), Hurricane Katrina (10 000 feared dead), and these last nine months have definately been a time for a lot of souls to depart this realm... And with September 11 still fresh in our memories, along with the thousands killed in the ensuing invasion of Iraq, the huge earthquake of December 2003 in the Middle East, along with the countless other bombings throughout the world (Bali, Madrid, Cairo, etc), this whole decade has been like a mass exodus of sorts.

Hmmm. Kinda reminds me of large numbers of animals instinctively leaving a forest just prior to 'something really big' happening.

We don't even see with our eyes. We 'see' with our brains. Our eyes only transform light into electrical signals that are constantly delivered to the brain for interpretation. The 'visible light' is confined to a tiny fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum, which is, in itself only 0.005 per cent of the matter/energy in the known universe.
It is within this miniscule frequency range that we decode 'light' into 'physical' reality. The eyes don't send images to the brain of three-dimensional street scenes or trees or children playing in the park, or anything else that we 'think' we are seeing outside of us. They send electrical signals. Only when the brain decodes these signals into an apparent 3D reality does the world we believe is 'around' us actually exist.
There is no world 'around' us as we perceive it; everything is all happening in our brain. Live 8 Apostles In The Tempel 1

Hmmm - What a curious weekend it's been.

Saturday, we have Live 8 - a simultaneous series of concerts playing all around the world to raise awareness of poverty and to try and lift our ancient motherland Africa out of her present predicament. Apparently, so many people logged on to watch the live telecasts that many sites actually CRASHed over the weekend.

Sunday we have an Apostle CRASH into the sea - leaving only 8 (in the Temple)...[this occurred on the Victorian coastline of Australia - within a series of natural rock features known as 'The 12 Apostles']

Monday we have the NASA spaceprobe 'Deep Impact' sending a giant copper bullet CRASHing into the heart of Comet Tempel 1.

The world is getting ready for something spectacular in 2012. According to researchers, the Federation of the Universe representing all the 88 star constellations will officially visit earth in 2012 and reveal themselves. It will bring an end to all UFO cover-ups in various countries.
In many countries all over the world the rumors are floating around that many Governments are being contacted at this time slowly to announce their presence and coming official visit.
According to some, the human civilization has finally reached a level when the earth can officially become part of the Federation of the Universe.

They want order and no panic among people. A slow but steady process is on to slowly make people of the world ready to see the representatives of the Federation of the Universe. The world can finally become an official member of the Federation.

The Federation represents all the 88 constellations of stars.

Constellations are patterns seen in the positions of stars. The modern celestial sphere is divided into 88 regions, each containing a different constellation of stars. Celestial Sphere is an imaginary sphere surrounding the Earth on which all heavenly objects (stars, galaxies, nebulae, etc...) seem to lie.

The map of the Universe and charted position of galaxies will be presented to the earth. In 2012 the world will come to understand finally the actual evolution process, the process of bending time and space, the fact that gravity is a wave and not a force and the fact that the whole Universe is run through electromagnetic flux generated through natural process or artificial means.

The earth will also be exposed to possible dangers to our planet that we do not even perceive. Emergency evacuation plans will be created in case of an unseen and unperceived calamity like what happened to Mars millions of years back.

There is a genuine attempt being made to protect our civilization. The earth will be made ready to understand who we are, where is our origin and where is our future. Even things like what happens to us after death and so on will also become clear in 2012. The world is getting ready for the facts slowly but steadily.

Want Micro-Chips With That?

Within 20 years (if not sooner), the world's techno-savvy will be using microchip implants to communicate and transact.
In fact, according to London nuclear physicist Wolfgang Grulke - it's already happening.
Already two scientists at Britain's Warwick University have chips embedded under their skin that lets them send emails...just by thinking them.
The process is still cumbersome, Mr Grulke says, but by willing a cursor around a keyboard on a computer screen with their mind, they can write and send emails.
"It's really the start of interfacing the chip with the nervous system," he said.
They are currently trying out a system by which the actual screen pops up within the user's vision via a pair of specially created contact lenses. Just by focussing on words, icons and such, one will then be able to send emails after having 'willed' the words to come up...
This will make driving and being on the road even far more hazardous that it is now - what with people writing emails, surfing the net, and doing their banking whilst driving!
Hmmm.

It's been said that we are advancing technologically at such an absurd and rapid rate that by the year 2012 (and there's that enigmatic date again!)...we will no longer be able to process the vast amounts of information available to us...unless we BECOME information!
That is, actually having embedded within us - implanted chips which will enable us to access information about absolutely anything at the mere thought of it.
It seems to me that this represents & symbolises the idea that we are 'anchoring' the 4th or 5th dimension into the 3rd dimension...that is, on a purely literal and physical level, bringing the (once intangible) conscious Collective Mind into the mind of each individual mind.
I actually believe we do this naturally (have total access to the global One Mind) - or that we could easily do this if we believed we could. We may still totally go down this road without all the implants, chips, and imbedded barcodes...for we are naturally, a telepathic race - currently suffering a grand case of collective amnesia.
But if we go down the other road of techno-imbeds, I have the uneasy feeling that it all might just implode in our faces (so to speak). What we once thought of as 'humans consuming technology'...may just end up as 'technology consuming humans'.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying one way is wrong and one way is right. Maybe we could go down both roads simultaneously. I try not to use a dualistic model of 'right' and 'wrong'...instead, I just ask myself this one question at all times, "What choices will evolve me, and what choices will hinder me?"
I think humanity should begin asking this simple question...before it's too late, and we become consumed by our own creation.

ps : So "who's" helping us (to gain all this technology)? Well, there's a theory that after the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima & Nagasaki in the mid 1940s, we, the people of Earth sent out into the Cosmos - an urgent distress signal for help (before we totally destroy this Earth Experiment). That's when 'they' came. But in true 'human-style' we then shot down their starships, and ransacked (looted) them and began utilising the technology we discovered inside them. Area 51 & Roswell, anybody?
Again, NOTHING happens by mistake...but some things can be learnt a whole lot easier, faster and less painfully - if only we acted out of Compassion, Understanding, Inner Peace & Unconditional Love from the very beginning.

I read an interesting article today which suggested that the mysterious Piano Man is a visiting alien to our planet - being able to communicate only via the mathematical properties inherent within classical music. Anyone seen the wonderful movie 'K-Pax' starring Kevin Spacey? Kinda reminds me of that...

Hmmm. Cool. If it's true.
A Parisian busker suffering amnesia, or a visiting alien suffering the curious ways of humans??? You choose.

For those with no idea what I'm going on about:
London - The hospital treating a mute piano virtuoso, found wandering on a British beach last month during a storm, on Sunday dismissed speculation that the man was a hoax. "He genuinely does seem to be suffering a psychological condition," said social worker Michael Camp.

"He never walks in a straight line. If he enters a room, he will not walk across it. "He will walk round the room, keeping his back close to the walls." The tall blonde man, thought to be in his 20s or early 30s, was found on the beach at Minster, on the south coast of England, soaking wet but fully dressed in a black suit, with no clue as to his origin. He has not spoken since and has not responded to written appeals while being kept under observation at a mental health hospital in Kent, southern England.

The silent man, dubbed "Piano Man" by the media, continued to show worrying behaviour, his carers said. "If more than one person is in the room, his eyes flicker from one person to another," said Camp, adding: "He is petrified by people".

For days he cowered in his room without uttering a word and would retreat into a fetal ball if faced with a stranger. However, he has fascinated social workers, the British media and the general public over his one means of communication: playing classical piano music.

Since launching a worldwide campaign for information about the mystery, police have received around 1 000 calls about the possible identity of the man. But that has eluded detectives thus far and the trail has run cold.

Minster is located on the south coast and it has been suggested that "Piano Man" could have arrived via the sea - causing his amnesia condition. When given pencil and paper by hospital staff, the mystery man drew a highly intricate & precise plan of the inside of a grand piano. And when shown a piano at the hospital chapel, he impressed his carers with a virtuoso performance - during which he temporarily lost the anxiety he has shown around strangers.

BTW : The above edited article is not the one suggesting that the Piano Man is an alien. I read this from an alternative news source... This article says that He arrived in the eye of a thunderstorm, utilising the abundant energy-portals of Southern England to enter our dense atmosphere, his starship presently cloaked in the sea.

He doesn't use any languages confined to any one nation as such but communicates through the universal 'language' of music. He is so afraid of humans because of our erratic energy levels, our confused mental states, and our propensity for violence, hatred and cruelty.

Yes, coming to Earth for the first time...indeed can be quite scary.

Crop Circle Season 2005 Has Begun

It's definately no secret to those who know me well that I'm a bit of a 'Croppie' (a Crop Circle lover)...and, it will be my distinct pleasure to keep you updated on all interesting & fascinating Crop Formations that shall appear this season (which begins in May and ends in August - in Southern England, as well as in other parts of the world).

The Crop Circle season has started already with several 'warm-ups' appearing last month. But the first breathtaking one came down on May the 1st, in Wiltshire in Southern England. It appeared in the same field as the 'Double Dolphin' one last year, actually superimposing itself on top of it (you can actually see the 'ghost' of last year's formation underneath this new one!).

It's relatively small, cute-looking and quite simple (compared to later-in-the-year formations). However, I feel this year will bring some truly groundbreaking (no pun intended!) designs that will really knock our collective socks off!

Last year's 'Finale Formation' (which always comes down around early to mid August) was a real stunner. The World's media dubbed it 'The Mayan Calendar Circle' and went as far as equating it with a Grand Collective Shift in Consciousness within the next seven years (The Mayan Calendar 'ends' in 2012). Hmmm, it definately seems that this formation was indeed quite prophetic for me as now this year, I'm actually involved in The Maya Project (see Lucid Dream Log thread), and I have actually got them to use this very formation as the Logo for our project - Synchronistic or what!?!

Galactic News Flash

A huge explosion halfway across the galaxy packed so much power it affected Earth's ionosphere in December 2004, scientists have announced. The blast originated about 50,000 light years away and was detected on December 27 last year.

The cosmic commotion was caused by a special variey of neutron star known as a magnetar. Several researchers wonder if the magnetar blast could be related to the December 26 earthquake and resulting tsunami.

"Had this happened within 10 light-years of us, it would have severely damaged our atmosphere and possibly triggered a mass extinction," said Bryan Gaensler of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

"We have observed an object only 20 kilometres across, on the other side of our galaxy, releasing more energy in a tenth of a second than the Sun emits in 100,000 years!"

Hmmm, I'm feeling that there's a great cosmic domino effect going on here - with stars upon stars emitting one by one, great flashes of Light across the galaxy. Something, some 'wave', some stream of great energy is approaching...getting closer and closer.

As we come into direct alignment with the galactic center, our planet & hence all its living creatures, our Sun & Solar System, will invariably be resonating at a whole new level...in harmony with the cosmic beat at the Heart of our Source...
